IM ALIVE !

I'm sorry, the fires are still happening and all freeways are blocked and my family and I are just really paranoid about evacuation and shit. So for now I will be writing and updating but it might be choppy until the fires stop.

3rd POV

Shoto groggily opened his eyes, looking around the sun filled room. Wherever he was reeked of alcohol rub and cleaner.

Giving the room a thorough look over. A place that was all too familiar to him. The white walls, the too bright fluorescent lights, the awful sight of the needles and other medical supplies strewn around the room. He was in some sort of low grade hospital room, that's for sure. A nurse pranced into the room, happily gliding over to the counter and picking up his clipboard before seeming to realize Shoto was awake.

"Hello, Todoroki-san!" The nurse said with a soft smile as he scanned Shoto up and down. Literally, he must've had a scanning quirk because his finger emitted some sort of light that thoroughly scanned Shoto's body. "You are going to be perfectly fine, don't you worry! Just a fever for the next few weeks but as time passes your temperature will go down."

(Yes nurses can be boys- chill.)

"I'm sorry.." Shoto interrupted. "Why am I here?" He asked.

He didn't remember anything happening to him..

"Oh, you were brought to the hospital because suddenly fell into cardiac arrest after being poisoned. You might not remember because of your feverish state at the time." The boy- Ash, according to his name tag, explained. (I know, such an original idea to use my name as a character- shut up.😂)

Feverish state? If he was here it was because of something his father did. He never got sick.

"Is- .. is he here?" Shoto asked hesitantly, which wasn't like him at all but his father did scare him.

"Is who here, Todoroki-san?" Ash asked as he placed his clipboard down. "Are you alright, you look a little pale."

"My father. Is he here?" Shoto asked.

Ash gave him a look. "Aizawa-san and Yamada-san weren't let out of their cells to come see you. They're still at the Tokyo precinct.. is everything alright?" Ash asked again.

It was Shoto's turn to give Ash a look. "Who the hell are they..? My father? Is he here?"

Shoto was getting desperate for an answer, it felt as if every person who walked past that door was going to be his father. Stomping and bossing everyone around like he owned the place.

"O-oh.. you mean Endeavor?" Ash asked nervously, rushing over to a computer.

"Who else would I mean..?" Shoto asked.

Oh no.

—————

Shinsou woke up by quite a few guards, followed by Tsukauchi, opening the cell door.

"Shinsou, your parents are back." Tsukauchi said happily, ignoring the many other people in the cell.

Shinsou's eyes went wide and he threw himself back, anything to get even a few feet from the heavily armed guards coming towards him. Izuku stood in front of him the same way he did when Denki was taken into questioning.

"Absolutely not! Are you so blind as to seriously not know where that bruise came from? His parents are terrible people!" Izuku pushed off a guard, punching another back.

Aizawa standing up seconds later while Yamada protected Denki sitting down so neither would get caught up in the violence.

Izuku had no problem fighting with no cuffs as he punched down two more guards and kicked another three or four in the gut, sending them falling.

"Midoriya." Aizawa angrily mumbled under his breath.

He knew Izuku could hear him, but the greenette did nothing to show it as he continued sending the backup guards to the ground. Where they should be, in his opinion.

"Alright that's enough." Tsukauchi said, sighing.

When Izuku still didn't stop and was about to take down the last two guards so he could beat down Tsukauchi himself, Tsukauchi spoke up again.

"Yaku." The detective said simply.

The last thing Izuku saw was a brilliantly short male before everything around him disappeared into black.

-

"No!" Shinsou yelled as Izuku was struck with a dark beam of 'Yaku's' quirk, Shinsou assumed.

But Izuku didn't fall, he stood there, completely dazed out. He seemed like he was spacing out and that's all it was but even as Shinsou screamed the second time as he was being dragged out, Izuku didn't move.

Yaku sighed and shut the cell door after Shinsou was out. He didn't enjoy using his quirk. He despised it. Almost as much as he hated people calling him short.

His quirk was named Nightmare- for good reason. When his beam of dark light hit someone directly they were forced into a state of their worst fears playing over and over again withou contact of the outside world. Eventually it would wear off, but not soon enough for the victim.

Now Yaku wasn't a push over and could hold his own quite well if he felt threatened. He was a great police officer and actually had a hero degree. But he never felt it right to use his quirk even in the worst of situations.

Yaku followed after the now silent Shinsou.

Recently he had been working with Sugawara Koushi of the downtown Tokyo police department. Sugawara hadn't stressed it enough that these kids needed to get out.

So Yaku and his partner - in the police force, sharing an office, roommate spectrum, and lover - Lev had recently been looking into it.

Yaku had full confidence that his leader was right. Shinsou had likely been brainwashed. Lev disagreed saying no one acts like this unless something was actually wrong.

Regardless, Yaku saw the problems these children had and he knew the heroes they had in custody were good people. So this situation was overall unnecessary.

Yaku carefully studied Shinsou as they walked into the small office type room where the Shinsou parents were.

Shinsou tensed and the look in his eyes intensified, he started to tremble slightly and his breathing picked up ever so slightly. The poor kid looked terrified.

Yaku's eyes narrowed on the parents.

Emi looked happy. Understandable, this was her son she was seeing after he went missing for two years, but there was something setting Yaku on edge. She looked too happy. Hajime looked indifferent, an angry presence built up around his like he wasn't even trying to hide it.

Shinsou slowly scurried over to the chair that was set up for him.

Yaku snarled under his breath at the expressions Emi and Hajime were putting on for everyone in the room. He was always good at reading people so honestly he didn't know how he hadn't realized how utterly fake those smiled and laughs and greetings were.

Yaku spun around, grabbing his tall partner tightly by the wrist and left Tsukauchi to deal with the three.
