donghyuck whispered to her, pulling her by the hand up until they reached the ladder leaning against the house.
"i can't help it. it's so risky, i feel so bad!"
she whispered back, giggling, her energy causing his heart to pump.
"you have it right? the stuff?"
the way she over-emphasized that last word brought a grin to his face because of how adorable she was to him.
"your parents shouldn't even know it went missing."
donghyuck held up the bottle and smirked, already on the roof before he bent down to help her up.
"hyuck, can i see it—the thing we did today?"
she asked, revealing the ink on her ring finger, hidden if she pressed her fingers together.
donghyuck gave her a smile and extended his hand out for her, her fingers tracing over his own tattoo in the same area.
her tattoo had the words 'forever', his 'and always'.
"do you know how lucky i am to have you?"
he pulled her in close and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"happy birthday, baby."
she giggled and laid against him, his arms protective and warm around her body.
the two sat up there all night until dawn, aged eighteen in the summer midnight air.
"forever,"
she stated and he held her tight, his next words out like a promise.
"and always."

donghyuck looked back at her, the girl he used to love.
all he could think about was how far they've come and how they've accomplished nothing at all together.
they held onto each other and brought each other back, their actions only destroying one another's life slowly through time.
