Chapter 16: Babysitting

On the 30th of December Seth and I walk into Olive's house. "Go find the others Seth" I say and he runs off.

I walk into the living room and see Olive, Andy and Zelda are sitting on the couch. I sit down on the floor. "Is Eda bringing Lannah?" I ask.

Olive nods not taking her eyes off the screen. They're watching Spongebob. Seth comes running into the room. "Dey not dere!" he says.

"It's alright" I say "They'll be here soon". He walks over and sits in my lap. "Kendall's coming with Rebecca" Zelda says and I nod.

I hear the door open. "WE'RE IN THE LIVING ROOM!" I yell and soon Keni and Ed emerge through the doorway.

Seth climbs off my lap and he, Alannah and Rebecca run into the at room. Cara walks through the door and sits down next to me.

"Hey guys!" Eda says "Seeing as Cara, Olive and Andy have all hosted something at their houses and my parents are out of town... I'm having a New Year's Eve party tomorrow!"

"COOOOL!" we all chorus. "The boys are invited as well of course and Elinor" Eda continues "I'll set up some beds and things in the lounge room as I don't have a theatre and... yeah!"

"SICK!" I say and Seth walks into the room.
"Wivvy" he says "Damion is awake". He hear a cry from the room down the hall. "I got it!" I say an run down the hall.

I walk into Damion's room and look into his cot. "Hey Damey-Poo" I say and pick him up. He instantly stops crying.

I carry him into the lounge room and hand him to Liv. "Hello baby" she says and nestles him in her arms.

I walk home with Seth a couple of hours of later. When we get home I run upstairs and run into my room. I pick up The City Of Bones again and start reading.

My iPod goes off. It's Eden...

Eden 💘: Hey! R u going to the New Year's Eve party ??

Me: Yeah. U?

Eden 💘: Yeah. I booked an air mattress on the roof for us 😏.

Me: Nawwwww. Thanks 💖

Eden 💘: Welcome me lady.

Me: You dork. I gtg. Dinner.

Eden 💘: See you tomorrow. 12:00 am 💕

Me: Bye! 😘

I walk out of my room and downstairs. I enter the kitchen and pick up my tray. Lina turns away and she glares at me.

She picks up the rolling pin. OH GOD! I didn't put my things on! I think as the rolling pin connects with my jaw.

I put my tray down before I drop my food and get beaten even worse. I brace myself as the rolling pin hits my side.

"HOW DARE YOU COME DOWN HERE WITHOUT YOU'RE GEAR ON YOU PIECE OF FILTH!" Lina screams. She slaps me across the face.

"GET UPSTAIRS AND DON'T COME DOWN AGAIN!" I pick up my tray and turn as the rolling pin comes flying at my back.

I bite my lip. Not letting my tears fall. I run upstairs and sit on my bed. I go into my bathroom and look for my presents.

There still in my hiding place. All of them. I open my cupboard... piece of filth... I find my razor... mummy she looks funny... I break it up... You're a freak Iris Finnigan... I place it on my wrist and slice.

I stop at four and clean up the blood. This isn't my first time. I find a big square band-aid and put it over my cuts.

I walk out if my bathroom and lay down in bed. My tray is on the floor an I sit up and pick it up. Leftovers. I eat and leave my tray near the door.

Lina will come and get it. I lay down again and find myself drifting off as I think about tomorrow...
