I sit in science next to Liv. My iPhone is in my pocket and I feel it vibrate. I pull it out and put behind the pile if books. I had a text from Eden.
Eden 💘: Heyyyyyyy
Me: Eden. I'm in science. Y r u txting me??
Eden 💘: I'm bored af
Me: Ha! ur not the only one.
Eden 💘: Wanna go somewhere?
Me: I can't. I'm in school.
Eden 💘: So am I. We'll ditch.
Me: do you know how hard it is to get out of this place ??
Eden 💘: Hang on
I frown at my phone an then I hear the overhead speaker go off. Iris Finnigan. You are going home. Your mother is picking you up. I smile and Olive gives me a questioning look.
I rip out a piece of paper from my book and write one word onto it.

I text Tani as she gave me her number at lunch.
Me: Meet me @ my house this afternoon.
Tani 🍎: Address??
I send her my address and walk out if the school grounds. Eden's car is parked out of the front. I run to it and open the door.
"How'd you get out?" I ask. "Same why I got you out" he say and smiles before he kisses me. "Where do you wanna go?" he asks and I shake my head.
"I don't know. Just drive" I say and he pushes his foot down in the throttle and we speed off.

I check my phone. It's 3:00 and school will be out soon. Eden and I are lying on the beach and have been for the past 2 hours.
We went swimming and I beat him in a race. I stand and hold my hand out. "Come on" I say "I have to meet Tani at my house".
"Ahhhhh. So the letter was true" he says and I pull him up. "Yeah" I say and head up the beach and he runs to catch up.

"Thank you" I say as we get into the car "For today" he smiles at me and I laugh but it's short as his lips claim mine.
He breaks away and turns to face the front. He starts the car and hits the accelerator and we speed off in the direction of home.
"Well" he says still looking at the road. "I'm glad that I had an excuse to leave". "Yeah?" I ask "Whys that?". "Because school is shit" he says and we both burst out laughing.
"Well I agree with you there" I say and smile.
