I get up at around 5:00am. We usually meet at the park at 7:00am and stay there until 5:30pm. I get out of bed and go and run a bath.
I walk out of my bathroom go and get my iPod. I text the girls and see what I have to bring.
Me: Ok. I have 3 or 4 jumbo packets of lollies and 4 or 5 jumbo blocks of chocolate. Do u want me 2 bring them all??
Eda 💥: Duh! I have 3 packets of Freddo Frogs and 2 blocks of chocolate.
Olive 📖: Jeez Iris! Do u know us @ all?! 2 bottles of 2 litre fizzy drink. 1 Coke, 1 Ginger Beer.
Zelda 🎶: 3 packets of thinly cut chips. 1 bottle of 2 litre fizzy drink. It is grape Fanta 🍇.
Andrea 💀: 2 tubs of ice cream. Bringing in mini portable freezer. Nepotilian and Chocolate.
Cara ✏: Bowl of fruit.
Eda 💥: WTF?!?!
Cara ✏: I accidentally hit send. A bowl of fruit covered in maple syrup.
Me: That's better!! C u soon 💕
I open my mini fridge an look at its contents. Yep enough crap to take. I go into the bathroom an turn the tap off. I soak in the water and then scrub myself.
I get out and dry myself off. I grab my picnic basket and send my mother a text.
Me: Lina I am going 2 the park with my friends.
Lina 🐻: Whatever! Be home by 5:30pm.
Me: Yes Lina!
I go and pack my food into the picnic basket. I pull out my black skinny jeans and boys shirt with a Harley Davidson on it. I find my aqua converses under my bed.
I walk downstairs. It's 6:30am already. I grab my bike and put the miniature picnic basket in the basket in the front. I push it to the gate and I ride off.
It's a 10 minute ride to the park. When I rock up Andrea is there. She only lives around the corner from the park so she gets here earlier then we all do.
"Hey" she says and jumps up from the swing. She walks over to me and move my face from side to side checking my jaw and behind my ears. She nods and then lifts up my shirt and looks at my stomach. She motions for me to turn around and she looks at my back.
"Good you're clean" she says and we go and sit on the circular swing seat. Cara and Zelda arrive. They've lived next door to each other since they were 2 so they always rock up together.
"She's clean" Andrea says as they walk in the gate and put their stuff on the table 5 meters away from us. They sit down with us. "Good" they say and we start to talk.
5 minutes later Olive and Eda show up.
"Andrea checked" Zelda says without even looking up from her conversation with Newt. "She's clean?" Olive asks. "She's clean" Cara answers.
They do this every time we meet. They check me to make sure that I wasn't beaten the night before if I said I wasn't. We go and get our food from the table and pull it all out of the bags.
Andrea with 2 tubs of ice cream and 6 spoons. Cara with a bowl of fruit covered in maple syrup and 6 forks. Zelda with her chips, drink and 6 plastic cups. Me with my chocolate and lollies. Eda with her chocolate in different forms. Olive with her drinks.
I immediately grab the Ginger Beer, pour myself a cup and then scull it. "Calm your tits little rainbow" Andrea says. That's always been her nickname for me, seeing as Iris is the Greek goddess if rainbows. "No need" I say "Don't have any". They laugh.
We eat, play and laugh. "Do you think we should give it to her now?" Olive whispers in Eda's ear. "Give who what?" I ask and raise an eyebrow. They pull out a present and the others walk behind them.
"Ok Iris" Eda says "We know that you have a rough life". Of course you do I think. "We just wanted to tell you" Olive says. "That we love you" Cara finishes "And we want you to know" Andrea says and looks me in the eye. "That we'll always be here for you" Zelda finishes the speech.
Olive hands me the present and I open it. It's a big frame of a college of all of us. Photos of us in our school uniform and others of us laughing at nothing in particular. I feel a tear fall out of my eye. "OH MY GOD! THANK YOU GUYS!" I squeal an jump up to hug all of them.
We play for hours and talk and laugh until its 5:30pm. "Hey do you guys wanna stay over tonight?" Andrea asks us. "YES!" we all yell. We have still got 3 blocks of chocolate, a tub of ice cream, a bottle of 2 litre and 2 packets of chips.
Seeing has the park has an inbuilt wifi system I text my mother.
Me: Lina can I stay @ Andreas 2nite?
Lina 🐻: Yes! Absolutely! If it means I don't have to see u 4 a whole nite then yes u can!
Me: Thx
"Lina said I could" I tell Andrea. The others are either texting their parents or calling them. "Mum said it's alright and we can stay out in the tree house. Mum is getting Dad to mattresses up there now" Andrea tells us when the others are done.
We pack up our stuff and put it away. I push my bike to Andreas house and park it out the front. I put my hoodie on that I bought just in case and flip up the hood. I stick in some of my green contacts and we walk into the house.
Andrea pulls me into the bathroom as the others continue in. "Iris! take that hoodie off and take those contacts out. These are my parents they've met you before" she says and pulls the hoodie off me. I take out my contacts and flush them down the toilet. "Sorry" I say "It's an instinct".
We continue in and go out side and up to the treehouse. Andrea's Dad has put mattresses pressed together around a table in the treehouse and has scattered many blankets an pillows around.
We pull out our lollies and junk food and sit them on the table. I pull out my iPod and go onto Instagram. I snap a picture and caption it:
