After school I went to my friend Rose's classroom. My sister Madlin and Rose's sister Tillie rocked up. We walked over the road and to the shops.
There we bought packets upon packets of lollies and chocolate for the walk home. "Mummy that girl looks funny" I hear a little girl say behind me. I resist the erge to spin around and look at her.
"I know sweetie, I know" her mother says and I can hear them walking away. "Lets go" Tillie says as she pulls out her new iPhone 4S. "I'm gonna record us and put it on vine so be as crazy as you can" she says and we walk out of the shop.
We eat and laugh and eat and eat and laugh. We get to Rose and Tillie's house quicker then I thought. "See ya Rose" I say "See ya Tillie". "Bye" they say together. "Come on Iris" my sister says and she drags me home by the ear.
When we get home I race upstairs and put on my sleek wig. It looks like real hair and my mother made me go to a hairdresser and get my hair cut short. I walk into my bathroom and grab my green contacts off the bench. I pull out my foundation, that makes me look tanned, out and rub it all over my body.
This is what my parents make me wear when I am home. If I don't then they beat me. Well they beat me if I do something wrong because I am treated like I am something wrong.
I go downstairs and see that my mother is in the kitchen. "Good afternoon Lina" I say to her. She doesn't like me calling her 'mother' or 'mum' because she doesn't want to own me. "Hello" she says and turns around. "Good. You're wearing your gear". I nod. "You can go back upstairs now" she says and I walk back upstairs.
I turn my iPod on. I had a text from Rose. My mother can't interfere with my messaging because she made the rule that I can have my privacy so nobody has to look at me.
Rose 🌹: Heyy
Me: Hey. How r u?
Rose 🌹: Good. U?
Me: I'm good she didn't beat me 2day.
Rose 🌹: That's great. Well I gtg. Violin 🎻.
Me: Kk. C ya 2morrow.
I click off my iPod and lay down on my bed. I fall asleep and wake up at 4:39. That's nice, an hours rest. I turn on my iPod and see that I have texts from the girls.
Cara ✏: So Iris. How was this afternoon?
Eda 💥: Yeah how did ur mother react?
Olive 📖: Iris are u there?
Zelda 🎶: Guys she has probably turned her iPod off.
Eda 💥: OMG! WHAT IF SHE'S DEAD!?
Andrea 💀: Eda. SHUT UP! Her mother isn't going to beat her to death.
Eda 💥: It nearly happened once. Don't u remember when her mother hit her in the temple with a rolling pin. She had 2 b rushed 2 hospital!!
Me: Guys I'm ok. I turned my iPod off and fell asleep.
Zelda 🎶: Told u!
Cara ✏: OK. So how did it go?
Me: Well I got upstairs without her seeing me just in time 2 get changed in2 my "gear". So she didn't beat me.
Cara ✏: Phew!
Andrea 💀: Yayy!
Eda 💥: OMG! I nearly had a heart attack b4 u told us that!
Olive 📖: GOOD!
Zelda 🎶: Whooo Hooo!
I turn off my iPod and fix my wig. I go downstairs and grab my dinner then take it back up. Bread and butter, and apple cut into slices and a glass of water. I tear off a hunk of bread and shove it in my mouth.
I can smell steak cooking from downstairs. I get up and put my tray of food down on my bed. I get my perfume out of my drawer and spray it in my room. It over powers the scent of steak and roast vegetables.
I walk back to my bed and sit down. I grab the water an take a sip. When I have finished my dinner I grab my bag and pull out the left over lollies and chocolate. I eat some and then stick them in the mini fridge that I have in my closet.
Yes, you may think my parents spoil me because I have my own ènsuite and a mini fridge in which I am aloud to keep junk food. But I only have these so that my family doesn't have to put up with me or have to look at me.
I walk into my bathroom and run a bath. I walk back into my room and look at the walls. All of them are covered with pictures of me and my friends. Mother and Father and my sister reckon that I got the photos off the Internet.
My little brother Seth... he's 2... loves to look at my friends photos and tries to distinguish who is who. It's cute. My little brother is the only one who loves me in my family.
I pull my wig off and stick it on the hat stand. I walk into the bathroom again and pull out my contacts. I turn the tap off and get into the bath and lay there for a bit before scrubbing all of the foundation off.
Tomorrow will be Saturday. I usually go to the park and meet my friends there. I get out if the bath and let the tap out. I dry my hair and my body then walk into my room.
I grab my pajamas off my bed and put them on. I get into bed and turn my iPod on. I go into the group chat.
Me: Night girls. C u 2morrow.
Andrea 💀: Night my little rainbow.
Cara ✏: Night beautiful. Have a good sleep. We have a surprise 4 u 2morrow.
Eda 💥: Cara u ruined the surprise part of the surprise. Night Iris. 💕
Olive 📖: Reading for a bit. Nighty night Iris.
Zelda 🎶: Olive? Reading? Now that's new 😂. Night Precious.
I love my friends. I turn my iPod off and lay my head on my pillow. Soon enough I am asleep.
