a squeal caught the attention of saiyr and she looked up from her phone only for her vision to be filled with hair. knowing only one person responsible, sai laughed and hugged her best friend, candace back.

the girls hadn't seen each other since they parted and guessing from the luggage by the door, her best friend was staying for the summer. "uncle deron picked me up from the airport. i didn't tell you because i wanted it to be a surprise so surprise!" sai smiled at candy and thanked her dad as well. "thank me by cooking those sweet and sour ribs i love." she nodded and hugged candy tightly before allowing her to sit on the couch.

the girls had their legs intertwined and were watching a rerun of martin. two episodes in, candy poked sai on the cheek and she was given the side eye. "girl what?"

"don't girl what me. what's been going on with you? how was ya date with shareef?" sai rolled her eyes and looked at her friend. "it wasn't a date." "but you wanted it to be." sai shrugged, she couldn't deny that. she was becoming fond of 'reef, and yes she had taken to calling him that.

a message came in and sai checked to see who it was before smiling.

reef🐧: you wanna hang out today? jay and qir will be there tho.

sai😍: i don't mind hanging with you and them. can i bring my friend tho?

reef🐧: candace right? and you know i don't mind.

sai😍: thank youuu💗 we'll be there, just send the addy.

reef🐧: bet.

sai looked to candy and smiled. "you wanna go out and hang with shareef and his brother and friend?" candace nodded and the girls left as soon as shareef sent the address.
