heat.

the week of the 4th of july came around and the daniels household became busy as saiyr's siblings came back home especially sai's eldest brother, kyian. not only were they going to be celebrating his twenty-fifth birthday on the 4th but they would also be meeting omar's girlfriend for the first time especially since learning she was pregnant, six months to be exact.

candy nudged sai as they watched her sister walk into her bedroom and jump onto the bed. "i missed you, baby sis!" monique or mini hugged sai tightly before letting go and doing the same to candy. "loud and for what ma'am?" candy said laughing causing the daniels' sisters to laugh as well.

mini was always loud around family, just never in public. her motto was "mama raised a lady and a lady i shall be." which was true because their mom was a lady, classy and always about her business and family. 

"so what's this i hear about a boyfriend?" mini looked at her little sister and was amazed at how grown she was now. never thought i would hear about the day sai got a boyfriend. mini was happy for her sister, whoever her boyfriend was, he made her happy.

sai giggled as she was spun around. her brother ky had just gotten home and everybody was happy and excited to see him. he was the second to last one to set foot in the daniels household and they almost felt complete. "how's my lil sis been? how's school?" kyian being the eldest was always attentive and caring towards his younger siblings, that was something that always stuck with him at a young age. he was protective of his siblings especially his younger sisters and mom since they were the only females in a household full of men. all the males were like that in the family, even amari.

"school's been good. i've been finessing these grades." ky chuckled and nodded, proud of sai. he was proud of all his siblings actually especially omar since he was planning to open his own art studio/painting shop. 

omar hadn't arrived yet with his mystery girlfriend while darius was in the kitchen with their dad and amari. "what's this i hear about a boyfriend?" sai rolled her eyes. her siblings have been asking the same question since they arrived, you would think they planned this. no, sai was not shareef's girlfriend yet. they were dating and yet to make things official. she loved the pace they were going at however and cherished the moments she spent with shareef before this week came in. 

"you guys are nosy. why don't you ask this in the group-chat?" the family had a group-chat where it was her siblings and parents and a separate one with just her siblings. ky shrugged. although the older siblings wanted to know who was making their sister smile so much, they didn't pester her with questions. she would tell them and their parents in her own time. except her mom of course, she knew what was up.

"ayooo!" omar's voice loudly rang in the foyer and sai saw her mom running from the living room to hug her son. behind him stood a pretty brown skinned woman in a floral maxi dress with her hair in a bun and cradling a small bump.

sai thought she was extremely pretty and judging from the small smile on her face, she seemed nice. after their mom finished hugging omar, her eyes settled the five foot nine woman behind her son and smiled at her before enveloping her into her arms. "hi, its so nice to meet you sweetheart. what's your name?" she pulled back and looked at the beautiful woman. "it's nice to meet you as well, ma'am. my name is kendra bailey." kendra looked at omar's mother and could feel her nerves mounting as she stared at her. kendra hadn't planned on becoming pregnant so early in life especially with a man she'd only been dating for almost a year. she wouldn't trade it though, she really loved omar and her growing jelly bean. what she would change, however, is meeting her boyfriend's family like this. she felt like she was intruding as soon as she stepped into the house. 

"how was the trip sweetie? any back pain or discomfort?" kendra shook her head and london nodded before introducing her to everyone else. every seemed really welcoming and nice and kendra was honestly glad especially since omar's younger sisters were so sweet and kind.

although she had wanted to meet them in a different way, she really didn't mind this either.
