saiyr sighed in content as she entered her apartment. she had missed the shared space and the welcoming aura it always had. she always felt like she was back at home whenever she entered it. granted she did miss home now because she had been there for a while. not only had being home come with a lot of surprises, she met the love of her life. her and shareef had said their goodbyes two days ago when she sent him off to his flight and she already missed him. the good thing was, that he had called when he arrived and has been updating her on him settling in on campus. she could tell that he was really excited to be at lsu.

"well if it isn't my main hoe." sai opened her eyes and grinned at seeing candace walking into the living room. "hi candy cane." candace smiled and ran excitedly to saiyr, landing on top of her and earning an oof in response. "i missed you, sai sai." candy snuggled into sai on the couch and sai smiled softly. she had missed candace since she had arrived back to the apartment a week before her and had been spending her time with her boyfriend, ken, who she hadn't seen in almost three months.

candace and ken had been dating for almost two years and were going strong each day. they both met when candace was in her sophomore year of high school and he was a senior. their love grew stronger as time passed and now they both acted very much like a married couple.

"how was your time with ken?" saiyr watched the smile grow on candace's face and felt happy at the sight. i'm so happy she's happy. "gurlll, it was amazing. we went out on dates and he took me shopping, and of course the sex-" knowing candace was about to go full detail like she usually does, saiyr halted her. "uh uh, calm down sis." she laughed at her best friend who rolled her eyes and giggled. candy switched on the tv and put on netflix, choosing whichever movie to fill in as background noise. "oh! when is kendra giving birth?" saiyr had no clue so she shrugged, "i'm not sure either. soon though, she looked ready to give birth at the baby shower." candy nodded. "and how was that? you know, between khalil and mini?" candace knew from what saiyr had told her that monique was not a big fan of khalil, especially when the whole affair that her father had with khalil's mom came out. although she had acted like it hadn't bothered her and embraced khalil, saiyr was upset for a while that her dad had cheated on her mom. she looked up to their relationship and to know that he had stepped out, made her look at the relationship differently. that was not to say that she loved her dad any less, she was just disappointed in him. the same could be said for the rest of her siblings as well. "monique was fine. she was neutral, more than anything. she promised to talk to us more, she also implied that she might get to know khalil more. it's up to her though." saiyr knew better than to force monique into anything, all of her siblings did but that wasn't to say they wouldn't talk some sense into her.

family was everything to them, the daniels' siblings were all they had besides their parents but when they weren't there anymore, it would be just them. it was one of the few things deron drilled into them at a young age. family was everything and you loved family no matter what they did, and any wrong they've done.

sometimes though, saiyr wondered if he said that to ease his own guilty conscience.
