Two Sides One School

Junior Prom

(A few months later)

"Good morning." Audrey greeted Ben's parents as she walked into the kitchen.

"Morning sweetheart. You sleep okay?" Ben's mom responded.

"Yeah. Is Ben awake yet?" Audrey asked and sat down at the table.

"We haven't seen him yet." His mom answered and put a plate down in front of Audrey.

A couple minutes later Ben walked downstairs and into the kitchen. 

"Morning hon." Ben's mom greeted him.

"Morning guys." Ben replied. He sat down next to Audrey and smiled at her. "We should eat fast so we can head out.

"Okay." Audrey nodded and took another bite.

(A few minutes later)

Ben and Audrey headed out to Ben's car. 

"So how are things with you and Harry?" Ben wondered.

"Fine. So are you going to ask anyone to prom?" Audrey answered, then asked.

"Not sure." Ben shrugged, then started pulling out of the driveway. 

(At school)

"Hey!" Ben called and ran up to Mal.

"Hey." Mal replied.

"So you know how we're kinda seeing each other on the down low?" Ben checked.

"We're not kinda. We are seeing each other on the down low." Mal corrected him.

"Right, right. Well anyways, I think we should go to prom together." Ben explained.

"Really?" Mal asked.

"Yeah. Like what if we're not together next year. We should at least go to prom together once." Ben said.

"Yeah I guess you're right." Mal agreed. "So how are things going with Audrey staying with you?" 

"Pretty good. It's nice having my best friend living with me, but I wish it was under different circumstances." Ben answered.

"Yeah." Mal nodded.

"Hey." Harry walked up to Audrey at her locker.

"Hey you." Audrey smiled at him, then kissed him.

"So..." Harry was saying.

"Yes?" Audrey asked.

"You want to go to prom with me?" Harry questioned.

"Yes! Yes I will!" Audrey smiled big, then hugged Harry.

(At lunch)

Evie was sitting at one of the tables in the cafeteria. She watched as a boy asked his girlfriend to the prom. She sighed and put her head in her hands.

"Hey Evie. Mind if I join you?" Doug questioned standing in front of her.

"Sure." Evie said not sounding happy.

"You alright?" Doug checked as he sat down.

"It's just everyone has a date to the prom, but me." Evie confessed.

"What about Mal? She's not dating anyone." Doug wondered and stated.

"Please." Evie slightly rolled her eyes. "Everyone knows her and Ben are secretly back together." 

"Oh." Doug looked down at his lunch, then got an idea and looked back up at Evie. "Would you like to go with me?" 

"Doug..." Evie was going to say.
