Two Sides One School

The New Loves

(Saturday morning)

Ben walked out of his house and towards Audrey's. He walked up and rang the doorbell.

"Hello? Oh hey Ben." Audrey's mom said as she opened the door.

"Hey Mrs. Beauty. Is Audrey awake or around?" Ben asked.

"Yeah. I'll get her. Come on in." She answered and let Ben in.

A few minutes later Audrey came down the stairs.

"Hey Ben." Audrey greeted him.

"Hey." Ben smiled.

"What's up?" Audrey questioned.

"I wanted to see if you wanted to do something today?" Ben replied.

"Oh." Audrey said. "Uh sure why not?"

"Cool." Ben continued smiling.

Evie was walking around the stores in the center of town. Then she bumped into someone.

"Oh sorry." She apologized.

"No it's my bad." They responded.

They looked up at each other and Evie saw it was Chad.

"Oh hey Chad." Evie spoke.

"Hey." Chad grinned at her.

"What you doing?" Evie wondered.

"Just shopping." Chad answered. "How about you?"

"Same." Evie responded.

"You want to hang out?" Chad suggested.

"You're not worried about being seen with me?" Evie checked.

"We're just hanging out." Chad replied.

"Right. Yeah." Evie agreed nodding.

"So where are we going?" Audrey asked as they were driving around.

"You'll see." Ben responded with a grin.

"Okay..." Audrey smiled back looking confused.

(Later)

Evie and Chad were still hanging out and it was starting to get late.

"We should start getting back home." Evie stated.

"Yeah." Chad said. "Well see you at school."

"Yeah bye." Evie said, then she went in to kiss Chad.

Chad started to do the same, then quickly pushed away. "What am I doing? I can't kiss you!"

"What? Why not?" Evie wondered.

"Because we're from two different sides. It won't work." Chad was saying.

"Yeah, but Ben and Mal were dating." Evie mentioned.

"And how long did that last?" Chad questioned as he crossed his arms. "I gotta go. Don't tell anyone about this."

Then Chad turned and quickly walked away from Evie without looking back.

Evie was walking back sad, then she heard her name. "Evie!"

She turned to see Doug waving to her. "Doug?"

He smiled and ran over to her. "Hey. Are you okay?"

"Not really. Chad is a real jerk." Evie answered.

"Yeah." Doug agreed. "Want me to walk you home?"

"Aren't you worried about being seen with me?" Evie asked.
