I could stay like that for a long time, just him and I. I was officially his, which felt good to think. He moved from my chest to my neck and nuzzled into it like he often did. I wasn't very used to having so much positive contact with the person I was with, I mean, I'll admit that this was a contrast from the abuse I suffered with Aaron, but obviously I much preferred this. Juuzou began to kiss my neck again and I smiled and ran my fingers through his hair lazily.

It was hard to get sleepy with the butterflies in my stomach that Juuzou's kissing was causing, but I didn't need to checkup on any of my patients for another three hours, so I had the time fo take a nap, and I should've probably taken any opportunity to rest that I could've. I ran my fingers along Juuzou's jawline and brought my lips down to his, kissing him softly before kissing his jawline down to his neck. He giggled as I left small kisses on his collar bones and neck. "(Y/n)-chan I'm too ticklish for those!" He spat out in between giggles.

I lifted my head up to look into his eyes, giving him a toothy grin to show my satisfaction with his sensitivity. He smiled back at me and started to play with my hair as I lowered myself down to kiss him again. However, before I had the chance to do so I heard a knock at the front door. Who could that be?

I reluctantly got off of the bed and ran down the stairs and to the door. Akira was there with four other men and two women. They all looked to be in pretty bad shape. Knowing the drill, I opened the door and let them all in, yelling to my medics for help. We got them up to the family room and put the newly injured agents on empty cots that the more healthy men weren't using at the moment. I told the blonde medic to call the CCG officer in charge of bringing necessities and tell him to get more cots. Then I went to work.

I worked on the man and woman who looked to be in the worst condition before moving onto the rest of them, including Akira. She had pretty serious burns as well as looking to have an over-exhausted body. She'd be fine, of course, but it upset me how far she was pushing everyone, including herself. I went over to the man I had saved for last and noticed something very concerning. His wounds were healing all on their own at an incredible speed. This man wasn't a man. He was a ghoul, and his eyes were beginning to open.

I reached for the needles I kept in my pocket and stabbed them hard into all of his exposed pressure points before taking his head in my hands and snapping his neck twice just to be safe. I did these things in a matter of seconds and got the attention of pretty much everyone in the room. The man twitched and moved. He was still healing, and at an extremely fast pace. This must be at least an S ranked ghoul. I took a medical knife and plunged it into his heart before grabbing seven more and stabbing all the pressure points I could think of. I opened his eyes with my hands.

Just as I thought.

He had one ghoul eye and one normal one.

Just my luck.

My eyes shot around the room until I saw the safe under the coffee table. I ran over to it and imputed the password, pulling out a briefcase with a kagune in it. The man was already moving again.

Shit.

I ran over to him and opened the briefcase with grace and speed, swinging the knife that came out and decapitating the ghoul. I couldn't tell if he was still healing, but I had to protect my comrades. I stuck the knife through his head before stabbing his heart again. I stood up and watched him for a moment to make sure there were no signs of life.

I apologized to everyone and gazed into their petrified faces. I couldn't tell if they were horrified because there was a ghoul, or horrified because I gruesomely murdered him and had blood all over me. "I really didn't want to ever have to do that. It must have been hard to watch, I'm sorry." I said, keeping my eyes on the ghoul.

I got one of the medics to help me dispose of the body, instructing the blonde medic to help me clean the blood that was scattered around and on the cot that the ghoul was resting in. "Who the hell let a ghoul come all the way home with them? Were none of them paying attention to their own goddamned comrades? Whoever fucked up put everyone living here in mortal danger." I spat angrily, cleaning the blood out of the floor.

The other CCG agents in the family room were listening to me rant, but no one dared to say anything. They knew that I needed to do what I did, and they knew I was pissed about it. I felt like I could break down at any moment and I wasn't sure why, but could you blame me? Hell, I was terrified and used every killing method I knew how to protect my patients. The blonde medic, who I learned was named Angela, was comforting me nervously and squeamishly scrubbing at the floor. I heard another knock on the front door and left my cleaning to answer it. It was the CCG officer with the new cots.

I once again thanked him profusely. I saw him suspiciously eye my clothes that were covered in blood, but he just bowed and left, not wanting to be a part of whatever the hell had happened. I took two cots up at a time and started to set them up, allowing the men who had their cots used rest again. When my work was done I sighed and addressed the room.

"I know that what just happened was extremely stressful and you are all probably pumping with adrenaline, but please try to get some sleep. You have to trust in me that I will never let any harm come to you as long as you are under my care. Also, thank you for not screaming earlier. It would've scared the whole house and we really need to keep everyone's heart rates and blood pressures down. Um, goodnight. If anyone needs anything just come to my room and knock on the door. Please refrain from yelling, there are people who are trying to sleep. That's all. Goodnight."

I walked back to my room and slowly opened the door in case Juuzou was asleep. I immediately saw my reflection in the mirror and finally absorbed the fact that not only my clothes, but my skin and hair were covered that damned ghoul's blood. I need to take a hot shower and I need to take it now.
