The night went by slow. Veerrrrreey slow. I didn't even sleep for most of the three hours in between my shifts because it was too damn hot and most of these men snored extremely loud. The fact that I could've been with Juuzou and wasn't was pretty much haunting me, but I couldn't bring myself to go up there and wake him up every time I arrived and left, plus if coma guy's vitals started to freak out I needed to be there immediately, and I wouldn't hear it enough to wake me if I were upstairs. So I stayed in my arm chair and fiddled with the mug that no longer had any coffee in it. I only had four and a half more hours to go now, so I was fine!

I  lazily climbed out of the chair, stretching and feeling my body's soreness as a result of trying to sleep in a weird position on that chair. It was officially time for my first rounds of the day. I would usually start with the family room, but I was already down in the critical condition room, so I thought I might as well start there. I circled around and checked out my usuals, being Rin, flirty guy, mean guy who's nice now, and other awake guy.

You should probably start putting effort into actually learning your patient's names, (y/n).

I finished with the newest one, who I named "Just woke up from coma and is a pain in the ass" guy. One of the medics walked downstairs to regroup for the day, as he did every morning. I asked him to stay in the critical conditions room and page me if anything happened.

He can handle that for the day, right? Plus, now I can have a normal day which means I can take a goddamn nap.

When I finished explaining the deal to the medic I went upstairs and checked on the family room and then the girls' room, not bothering to converse with any of them, although I'm not sure if it was because I was tired or because I wanted to get to my bed faster. After what seemed like ages, I finally made my way back to my room, closing the door behind me and practically running over to Juuzou so that I could check him out. I took his temperature and heart rate before he was even fully awake because I was so excited.

I really don't know if I'm excited to sleep or excited to cuddle Juuzou, but both sound pretty damn good.

I began cutting through his bandages and applying ointments to his wounds, making him groan in tired discomfort sometimes, to which I responded with a rushed apology. I began rewrapping him quickly while he watched in semi-confusion. "Geez (y/n)-chan, what's the rush?"

I was officially done and jumped on the bed, getting under the covers and hugging Juuzou. "I have around two and a half hours before my next shift and I am using the opportunity to recharge by cuddling with you."

Juuzou's eyes lit up. "I see!" He said, wrapping his arms around me and holding my head to his chest.

I wrapped one of my legs around him and took a deep breath in before exhaling and groaning at the same time. "Bad night then?" Juuzou whispered.

"Yes. Bad night." I said into his shirt.

We stayed like that for a long time before I fell asleep. The next time I woke up was to my pacer, which was telling me it was time for my next round. Juuzou shifted and groaned sleepily as I crawled out from under him and grabbed my stethoscope, running out of the room and to the family room. I sped through my shift as fast as literally possible, being thorough but not exactly friendly. The men didn't think much of it though, I mean, these men knew what I had been through because when I yelled at Akira they definitely heard it. The girls room is easy to do quickly as long as I didn't involve myself in Juuzou's fan club, so I simply avoided speaking when it came to checking on that group.
