I was awake. It was around four in the morning, and Juuzou was asleep, and my eyes were closed, but I was awake. My body ached and my brain hurt, but those weren't the reasons I couldn't sleep. I had remembered something, something that hadn't decided to cross my mind for a very decent amount of time. It was a book, more specifically a book filled with recipes for mixtures and concoctions that healed people incredibly fast. The recipes always needed rare ingredients, and the process of making the ointments was odd and difficult, but with my current resources and skills I could make one with ease and heal my wounds way faster than they would heal naturally.
Where did I put the damned thing? Not in the cabinet or my closet, OH! The nightstand! It's in the top drawer!
I knew I wasn't going to get any more sleep that night anyways, but I couldn't just walk over to the nightstand and grab the book with the current condition of my legs and arm. I looked over to Juuzou, who's sleeping silhouette was highlighted by the moon. He looked so calm and peaceful, I couldn't just wake him up at 4:00 A.M., could I?
The answer was yes. Yes I could.
"Juuzou, hey, Juuzou-kun." I whispered.
Nothing. I put my hand on his shoulder and gently shook him. "Hey, wake up, I need you." I said in a quiet tone.
He shifted and groaned before peeling his eyes open and eyeing me. "What?" He whined, his voice low and hoarse.
"There's a book in the top drawer of my nightstand and I need it but I can't get it, can you grab it for me?"
"Uhm. (Y/n) what time is it?"
"That's unimportant, the book has information that can help me make medicines that can heal my wounds."
Juuzou rolled to his stomach and reached to the nightstand, pausing when he saw the clock sitting on it. "It's 4:17 in the morning?" Juuzou whisper yelled, pulling out the drawer and taking five books out of it.
He set them all next to me and turned on the lamp that sat on the bedside table. I looked for the book I needed, my eyes lighting up when I found it. "I got it!" I said, opening the book with my good hand and sifting through the pages.
Juuzou put his cheek on my shoulder and watched as I looked for the mixture that could heal my broken arm. When I found it I quickly looked over the ingredients and the conditions for making it. I needed a ghoul's eye, but everything else on the list I basically already had! I smiled and flipped through the pages to find serious tissue and muscle repair for my leg as well as delicate bone repair for my ribs. After I found and marked both of them I felt content and set the book down next to me. Juuzou took his head off of my shoulder and I turned to him, giving him a kiss. "Thanks love." I said softly.
Juuzou excitedly kissed back and I giggled, falling back into the bed with him. I rested my arm on his chest and yawned, finally feeling exhaustion wash over me. I cuddled into Juuzou and closed my eyes, falling asleep within minutes.
5:00 A.M.
As soon as I heard my alarm I grabbed the book from beside me. I only got around 45 minutes of sleep, but when you're excited you really only need that much anyways. I grabbed the crutches leaned up against the bed and hobbled over to my cabinet, where I grabbed all of the needed ingredients for my leg.
Walking comes first for sure. Plus I need a ghoul's eye for my broken arm, which will probably take some time to get.
I glanced over to Juuzou, who was dead asleep on his stomach with hair covering his face. I smiled and admired him before going back to my task at hand. I got the needed ingredients and grabbed a mixing bowl from the cabinet before throwing the ingredients in and mixing as the book told me. The concoction I ended up with was earthy and green, which was apparently what it was supposed to be like. I sat down on my desk's chair and pulled my leg up, grabbing the cream and applying it to the wound.
I winced at the stinging pain, but soon began to feel better after it began to work. The process was incredible to watch! My leg's skin and tissue and muscle was repairing right in front of my eyes at incredible speeds! I applied the rest of the mixture to whatever wounds I could see, letting it heal my cuts and burns within minutes. I cut the stitches out of my now healed head and walked over to the book, looking at the recipe to fix my ribs.
It looked a bit more difficult than the tissue repair, but I could manage just fine. I snuck out of the my room and walked down the stairs to the living room, slipping out the back door and walking into the yard. My garden was on the other side of the land, and I was hoping that enough herbs were alive to support bug life, seeing as my recipe called for a Seserian Morning Worm.
Yes! Jackpot!
Right next to the spring onions sat a worm just the size and breed that I needed. I grabbed it and snook back into the house, locking the door behind me and walking up the stairs with my now healthy legs. I put the worm into the bowl and crushed it with my mixture, taking parts of snake egg shells and crushing them too. When I was finished with the mixture I placed it onto my ribs and looked into the mirror, watching subtle movement under my skin take place. After a few minutes I moved my chest around and stretched my back, smiling when there was no pain to be found.
Now all I have is a broken arm, and I can manage with that!
I ran over to Juuzou and climbed on top of him, sitting on his hips. His eyes shot open and he looked at me in confusion. "I did it! Everything's better now! Well, except for my arm, but even that will be better in just a little bit!" I exclaimed, leaning down and giving his jawline kisses.
"That's- that's great! That's really great!" He giggled, pushing me away and immediately pulling me back in to kiss me.
I hummed and bit his lip, sticking a bit of my tongue into his mouth. He gripped onto my hips and I cupped his face as we intertwined tongues, softly moaning at each other's movement. I broke away and blushed when a trail of saliva connected his tongue to mine. "You're so cute, (y/n)-chan! Still so bashful even after I've seen you naked!"
My blush darkened and I covered his mouth with my hand. "Oh be quiet! Don't you have any social cues?"
Juuzou giggled and licked my hand. "Ew! Juuzou!" I exclaimed as the boy laying in front of me laughed.
I glared at him and laid down on top of him, resting my head on his chest and listening to his heartbeat.
"I love you." Juuzou whispered.
I smiled. "I love you too."
Authors note: I love my happy stable babies 🥺 wouldn't it be a shame if something happened to them?
