Chapter 3: Reunion...

"Zane?" Jay says speechless. He comes up behind me and holds my shoulder gently. "What are you doing here?"

Zane, the deep blue-eyed, black long hair, perfect untouched skin, was standing in front of me. But he was different. He had a tattoo on his neck, a scorpion. He had a buzzcut, a fucking buzzcut! He had his eyebrow pierced, and his lip pierced, and he stretched his ears. He's... different, I haven't even spoken to him but I know now that he's completely different. He no longer has an unspoken tension around him, he's more relaxed.

Zane keeps his eyes on me, but then something cracks in his brain and he looks over at Jay. He looks between me and Jay, his mouth dropping open slightly.

"Zane? You- you're back?" I can hear my voice break.

"Yeah, I'm back."

"I'm sorry, can someone tell me what the hell is going on?" Jay asks, making Zane and I turn to him.

"Zane Umm.. come on in." I step aside, pulling Jay with me.

"You didn't tell him anything?" Zane asks and eyes Jay with curiosity.

"No, but you can explain it."

He nods, I shut and lock the door, then pull Zane and Jay to the couch.

"Zane, explain everything to Jay. Jay, please dont get mad at Zane. And both of you, no fighting."

Jay looks confused and on edge, so I bend and kiss him, mumbling that it's okay. He smiles and nods, I look back at Zane. He gives me the most hurt and sad smile Ive ever seen on him.

"So, you two are together..."

"Yeah, umm, we are going onto the 7th month..."

"That's good, I'm happy for you."

I know he's lying, but I'm happy he's not saying anything about it.

"Thank you. Um, you should probably talk," I step away into the kitchen.

When I get to the kitchen, and I'm out of sight, I silently cry.

Why? Why does he have to show up now? Why not later? Why not earlier? Why does it hurt so much? 

I was happy? I was happy.

"So, that's what I promised. I'd be back, but I couldn't until now," Zane said, noticing Jay had been quiet.

"My thoughts are... That was really fucked up, and I had no idea. How- What did you do to stop them?"

Zane looks at me as if asking if I'm ready to hear it.

"I need to know..." I get quieter with every word, and he nods.

"Well, where do I start? Jacklyn;  I found out some info. Her uncle was a cop, that's how she got my information and Shanes, and because of that, I couldn't go to the police. But, I am friends with an officer there, Officer Hope, and he was a big help in getting her caught. He transferred stations just to help me out, Because the blackmailing involved a criminal it was a high-priority situation," He pauses as if considering whether to continue on or not.

"I always had a tracker on me, because Jacklyn realized she could no longer go after Shane. So, she got what she wanted from me, then she sent Jason to me. I was working the night shift, and when I was on my phone taking out the trash, he attacked me. Didnt give me a chance to fight back. Took me away to his "new home" Jacklyn used her daddy's money for. I was there for a whole day, and all he did was abuse me and talk about getting Shane.

"I guess Jacklyn said he "wasn't allowed" to harm Shane, just me. So, he kidnapped me and tortured me. I managed to get loose, but he found out and shot me. He tied me up and locked me in the basement, and when he went to go drink, I noticed the tracker buzzing around in my pocket, meaning they found me. So, I broke free, then used his gun to keep him in until they got to us. He's locked up for life, Jacklyn didn't get locked up, but you might've noticed she was gone for the rest of the school year, right?"
