(Shane pov)
I watch Zane press out his order on the tablet. I know he had some money saved up from his old work, but this is a lot. Everything is prepaid, he must have put so much time and thought into this night, I feel so damn lucky.
There's a knock at the door. Zane tells them to come in. A man who looks to be in his 40s steps in, towel over his arm neatly folded, a bucket of ice with a champagne bottle hanging out of it.
"Thank you, leave it on the table, sir," Zane says and turns to me. "Shane, I won't be drinking tonight, but feel free, to drink to your heart's content."
I smile and thank the man when a champagne glass is put in front of me. He nods silently and pops open the bottle over the ice, small foam bubbles rise to the top. A second after they dissipate, the man pours the white bubbly drink into the glass. I watch in awe, then I see Zane grinning while watching me.
"Happy?" He asks and grabs my hand across the table.
"Very, thank you, Zane."

"I'm gonna be in for it when I tell Gavin how much weight I gained tonight," Zane grins as he turns the tablet to me. "I'm serious, order anything that looks good, Baby."
I swallow hard, but I do as he says. My eyes hover on the steak, I haven't had steak in a while as Jay never liked steak so we never ate it. I pressed the icon, and it asked how I'd like it cooked, so I pressed medium. I press the cease salad. I turn the tablet back to him, I then drink from the champagne. It tastes amazing, the bubbles fizz on my tongue. I happily moan, and Zane laughs at me.
"Good?" He asks, pressing a few buttons on the thing while glancing at me.
"Absolutely," I grin, setting the glass down.
"It better be," he sets down the tablet and lays his chin on his palm, his fingers tapping his jawline. "I did ask for the best of the best. And, I bought the bottle so, we are taking this and finishing it off tonight."
"Oh. Do your parents even own champagne glasses?"
"We're not going to mine," his grin turns to a smirk.
"Babe, my parents would know if I touch their glasses," I raise an eyebrow at him.
"And we're not going to yours either."
"What are you plotting?" I lock my hands, leaning forward and resting my chin against my fingers.
"Don't worry about it, Shane. I have everything planned for the perfect night, just sit back and be yourself. That's all I ask of you today, be yourself."
I can't help but blush and cover my hands with my face. I used to be so nonchalant when someone flirted with me, but it's Zane so everything is different now. Plus, he's so fucking hot with the new tattoos and hair and piercings, he's stunning. How could I not blush when that god across from me was flirting with me? He grabs my hands, lowers them from my face, pulls them to his lips, and kisses my knuckles.
"Just be yourself, you are the one I love."
"God, you're going to drive me crazy," I laugh. "I love you so much, Zane."
"I love you more than you could know, Shane. My little Emo."

The food was absolutely delicious, the steak was cooked perfectly, the salad was rich and crunchy, and Zane even ordered us some dessert. Even though it was only 2 pm, we had a bunch of sweets. He was right about the food here, it was amazing. So far, this date is amazing. I was self-conscious in the beginning, but I got very comfortable with Zane. Before I know it, we're on to the next location. It wasn't that far of a drive. It stops at Union Station, he parks in a lot and we walk the rest of the way there. We hold hands, our hands swinging back and forth slightly it's a comfortable silence. Eventually, we enter the double doors to lots of people crowded around something. I squint and eventually, someone moves, I see the face of a football player for our team.
"We're not here for them," he said to me and I almost sighed. "Don't worry babe, I know you. I know you so well, I bet you didn't know that there was a new art gallery in town?"
I gasped, my hand squeezed into him, "is there?"
"Yes. I booked it for an hour and a half, just you and me," he grins ear to ear, feeling very proud of himself.
I can't help it, my hand wiggles loose from him, instead grabbing onto his neck and pullinghims down to kiss me. He doesn't hesitate to grab my waist, slightly pulling me up into his body.
"I love you so much, Zane."
"I know," we smile into each other's lips, then he lays his forehead on mine. "I love you too Shane. I always have, I always will."
"You've won the award for best boyfriend of the year," I grin, pushing my head into his lightly, kissing his lips, then his nose. "And I mean that."
He hoists me up, my feet dangling, and he spins me around, and when my feet hit the ground we're kissing again. The world could be ending right now and we wouldn't notice. We wouldn't care. All we care about is this moment, the now; not the then or the when, only the present.
"Hey," he says when we break. "You wanna check out the art now?" He laughs into my cheek, kissing my skin softly.
I close my eyes, pulling him into a hug, he's still carrying a lot of my weight, but I know he doesn't mind. He could bench press my weight. I bask in the euphoria of the moment, lying against him, drunk in love.
"Yes. You have no idea how much that means to me, Zane."
Jason never gave a damn about art, he liked football and sports, and I liked music and art, so our dates consisted of just drinking and cooking at home or going to see a movie. He never put any real thought into a date before, and honestly, neither had I.
"Anything important to you is important to me," he says into my neck. "So, let's go check this out."
I let go of his neck, instead wrapping my hands around his arm. He leads me the rest of the way, telling me how he found out about the gallery; where it's coming from, and where it's been. When Zane stops and is about to open the door, an older man puts his arm out.
"Sorry, the areas are reserved as of now."
"I know, I reserved it. Zane Williams," Zane fished his wallet from his pocket with his free hand. He presents his ID, and the man nods.
"Oh, I'm sorry Mr.Williams," He moved his arm and opened the door for us. "Are you expecting more guests?"
"No, it'll be just the two of us, thank you," Zane pushes his ID back into the leather slot in his wallet. "So, please dont let anyone else in." He grins.
"Of course, sir," he nods. "Enjoy your time."
We step in, the door shuts behind us. My hands go over my mouth in awe.
"Do you like it?" Zane whispers in my ear.
"Shut up and kiss me," I say, he grins and does as I directed.
I've never been happier than right now.
