With the light crawling through the translucent curtains, Maya woke up with an empty spot next to her on her right, and in her clothes from last night. Sitting up in bed yawning, she glanced around the room.

The room where she and Nik sleep. Last night Maya fell asleep in Nik's arms. He must of brought me up here. Throwing the sheets off of her, Maya groggily got up heading for the washroom. Doing her business she came out afterwards changing into fresh pair of clothes.

Walking downstairs into the kitchen, a note plastard on the kitchen counter with her name sprawled across it. Picking up the note it says that he's at work and breakfast is in the kitchen. Today's the day where Nik finally takes over his father's business.

He's been excited about it and kept talking about what he's going to do to run the place. How he's in charge of everyone, even her mother. Since her mother was partners with his father, she got ranked one lower than Nik. Since she's growing old too, she didn't mind going down one status. Soon enough Karen, Maya's mom. will be retiring too.

Opening the fridge, she spotted a plate full of food. Taking the plate out and sticking it in the microwave as it heated her omelet. Today she will finishing unpacking her things into the home which is a great day since Nik is off to work.

The microwaved beeped taking out the hot food. Sitting at the island scrolling through her Facebook page, Maya ate the food cautiously.

Once she finished her delicious omelet Maya placed the plate and fork in the dishwasher. Walking out to her car, she opened the car door, clutched her earphones plugging them as she blasted music. Slamming the door Maya opened the trunk starting to unpack the boxes one by one.

Piling the boxes out beside the car. Closing the trunk once Maya had finished with the last of the boxes, she hauled them into the home. Two by two depending on how big the boxes are up to their room. Unpacking each and every box, it took around two and a half hours.

Once she finished Maya walked back downstairs to the living room watching TV for a bit as she rest. Unpacking all the boxes exhausted her real bad. The news struck on as the newscaster told the story of the people who died that night.

t brought back memories of how she bumped into Marley three years ago frightened that he'd kill her, but spared her life. Then a few nights ago, where she ran into them again, but with the whole gang around interrogating her.

Knowing that she would've died if Carmin wasn't there, or so he wanted to be called, she would have died right in that spot.

The she saw him again.

This time he was a bit nicer than the last but he did joke. At least she knows he's not plotting her death.

What she doesn't understand is why would they kill innocent people for no reason? It's the question that's been ringing in her head, even from the killings from three years ago. Everyone's been wandering the exact same question.

When people had found out that the serial killers are back, everyone went ballistic and panicked for their dear lives. People have been cautious of their surroundings. No matter what they do the killers somehow get in without hesitation.

It's devastating for what they do. Traumatizing others, tragic to the family members, and scarring people for life. Although they took a three years break, will they ever end? Probably not.

Drowning everything in her mind Maya concentrated on the news in front of her. But couldn't.

No way in hell would she.

Everything that had happened is already traumatizing, plus on top of that is the arranged marriage to a guy she barely even loves, let alone like and knows. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life with him, acting to be happy around him. How this all is just one big act to her.

She blames her mother for this. All she wanted is a normal life with a family she loves. Her mother despises talking about her father. The only information she got out of her was that he died in a car crash when she was only six months old.

There's no pictures of him around the house. None. It's like he never existed. When it came to Father's Day, it felt just like any other day to her. No matter how much she begged for her mother to talk about him, she refuses.

Soon enough, Maya knew she wouldn't get any info about him so she dropped it. To this day he is still a mystery to her and she would do anything to find any info about him.

Anything.

What could she do though?

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.
