Maya drove into town to pick up Tamara where they're going to a bar for the night. She told Nik that she's going out with a friend to a bar. It was a hassle to convince him that she'll be okay to go out at this time of night.

"I don't want you goin, especially with those killers running around."

"I'll be fine. Tamara is coming with me."

"How about if I come with you and Tamara so you won't be alone and if something happens I'll be there."

"Nik, no. You're not coming with us. We need a girls night out. We'll be okay. If worse comes to worse, I'll call the cops if something happens to us. I'll even text you when we get there so that you know we're alive."

Nik hesitated a bit before answering.

"Fine, text me when you get to Tamara's, at the place and text every hour or so, then text when you're leaving."

"Okay."

Now she's on her way to Tamara's to pick her up. With it only being 6:30, it's still pretty early. The thing about Tamara is that she lives down in Stoneshire, just a couple blocks from where Maya used to live. As kids, they would go to each others houses by walking. They were ever so close that they'd meet each other almost everyday.

Driving through the neighborhood, she passed the turn where she would go to get to her home, and turn in the next one over. Only a few houses down she pulled up beside the driveway and honked for Tamara to come out of her cozy little home.

Waiting a minute Maya texts Nik that she's at Tamara's then sees Tamara coming out with her orange red hair in a high ponytail, wearing a white blouse with a leather jacket over and blue ripped jeans at the knees.

Tamara opened the passenger door and hoped in. Putting on her seatbelt Maya drove off.

"Hey Tammy, what's shaken?"

"You know the usual May."

Each giving themselves the nicknames were from when they were kids. It's a great way to flash back into their childhood.

"Guess what?"

"What Maya?"

"On my way to the car earlier, I found a rose sitting on my hood."

"Nik left you a rose? Aww, how sweet."

"The thing is . . . I don't think it was Nik who left me that rose unless he got someone to come into the property to just drop it off. In the morning when I went to unpack, there was no rose anywhere on my car."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Then when I was coming to get you, there lays a red rose on my hood."

"Wow."

"I know. This isn't the first time this happened. I first got an email, then I got my first rose and an envelope saying 'enjoy the gift.' Then I got two more roses. So this is my fourth rose that I've got."

"You must have a secret admirer."

"At first I thought I have a stalker but then it wouldn't work."

"How so?"

"I mean . . . don't you need a stalker that follows you everywhere you go, gets creepy messages and steals things and knowing all about you without you knowing?"

"Yes. I do find this weird and crazy that someone's doing this."

"See? Then my ring goes missing for I don't know how long now and when I went downstairs after the call, my blanket disappeared. I had it on the couch when I went up."
