Battlefield

Greyson Elliot opened her eyes, and looked at the boy's body on the ground.
Nothing happened. Nothing creepy or magical or horrifying.

Just dead silence.
Had that really been Georgie?
Did they make a catastrophic mistake?

The boy started to shake and writhe on the ground, and Grey was sure they had not. He screamed and made horrible noises, his body slowly converting to something all too familiar.

The clown.

The clown sprung up from it's spot on the floor, and Eddie started screaming.
"Bill! Kill it!" He shouted.

He was still holding the sheep gun.
"Kill it! Bill, shoot it!"

Mike mumbled something incoherent, while Bill held the gun to it's head.
"It's not loaded!" He shouted more clearly, while Bill pulled the trigger.

Nothing happened.
The clown snarled and lunged at him, trying to snap at his face but getting blocked by the metal gun.

"Leave him alone!" Bev shouted, trying to stab it with the metal spear, but to no avail. It grabbed the weapon, and Mike ran up to hit it.

The clown knocked Mike back against the wall, leaving Richie jumping on it's back with another stick or rebar.

It grabbed Ben and Stanley, spinning in circles before letting them go flying across the room.
Grey watched Stan hit the wall with a thud, and her blood boiled again.

Richie flew off the clown back and hit the ground.
Grey stepped over him and held her metal pipe, smacking it across the face.

It made a loud clang, and she tried to it it again, but it grabbed her face with a wicked smile.

"Your fear is running from your nose." It growled.
"It's not fear, it's anger bitch!!" She grabbed the arm holding her face and kicked her leg up to kick in the stomach.

It picked her up and threw her at Richie, and the two hit the ground hard.
Grey looked up and wiped her nose, seeing that it had now grabbed Bill.

"Bill!" It hle dhim in place, staring at the kids wit evil amber eyes.
"Let him go." Bev pleaded.

"No, I'll take him." It laughed. "I'll take all of you! And I'll feast on your flesh and feed on your fear."

It held one hand up and wagged it's finger at them.
"Or... you just leave us be. I will take him, only him, and I will have my long rest. And you, will all live and grow and thrive and live happy lives."

Grey looked at Bill, struggling to break free from the clown.
"Until old age takes you back to the weeds."
Grey had to wonder what that meant.

"Leave." Bill pleaded with them.
"I'm the one who dragged you all into this. I'm s-s-s- I'm s-sorry."

The monster shushed him obnoxiously, mocking his stutter.
"Go!"

"Guys..." Beverly shouted. "We can't!"
Richie stood up, and Grey stood up with him, backing up slightly.

"I told you Bill, I fucking told you." Richie shook his head. "I don't want to die. It's your fault."
"You punched me in the face, you made me walk through shitty water, brought me to a fuckin crackhead house... and now..." Richie picked up his weapon from the ground. "I'm gonna have to kill this fucking clown."

The monster dropped Bill and charged at Richie, screeching inhumanly.
"Welcome to the Loser's club asshole!" He shouted.

He hit the clown in the face, with a loud clink!
Mike tried to hit it with the rebar, but it's face opened up like an old wound, hand and arms pushing out to grab the bar from Mike.

Stanley grabbed the pipe from the ground, hitting the charred arms out of Mike's face.
Grey hit the clown from behind, knocking it's face into another transformation.
The lady in the painting.

It ran at Stanley who hit the clown back into it's original form, then getting attacked by everyone collectively.

It ran after Mike with crab-spear like arms, nearly crushing him.
Ben unsheathed some kind of sharp stick, and stabbing it in the back.

Blood sprayed out of it's chest, floating up into the air instead of dripping down.
It's head transformed into a decaying mummy, wrapping it's rotting tendrils around Ben.

Mike picked up a chain and hit it away from Ben.
The losers started throwing down, beating the shit out of this thing.

Grey was preparing to see Henry Bowers. It was clear to her it was transforming into their fears. That's why what came next surprised her.

She swung her pipe down to hit in, but it grabbed her arm.
It's face resembled not Bowers... but Jared.

"You stupid fucking bitch!" She tried to rip her arm away but it's grip was too strong. "You killed dad, and I'm going to kill you, you freak!"

Blood ran down her nose and she grabbed the pipe with her other hand, and kicked it off of her. She hit in the head, screaming with blinding anger and denting the corner of it's forehead.

It's coughed and writhed, turning into a disgusting leper and vomiting all over Eddie. He threw up on the ground and screamed, "I'm gonna fucking kill you!!"

He kicked it to the ground, and it changed to it's final face.
A creepy man, who was smirking at Beverly.

"Hey Bevy. Are you still my-"
She screamed at it and shoved the rebar down it's throat.

It's face crackled back into it's normal white complexion, and it sit up the metal bar.
"Oh shit!" Richie screamed.

It backed away from the kids, gasping and shaking... like it was truly in pain.
"That's why you didn't kill Beverly." Bill walked closer to it.

"Cause sh-sh-s-she wasn't afraid. And we're not either."
The clown cried and laughed eerily.
"Not anymore. Now you're the one who's afraid. Cause you're gonna starve."

It flipped over backwards, holding onto the edge of the well desperately.
It quietly chanted that phrase that Bill recites to work on his stutter, and Stanley handed Bill the pipe.

It's head was cracking, and it slid further down the wall before Bill could hit it.
They watched as it's head cracked up, pieces floating up in the air.
It was surreal.

The last word it uttered was, "Fear."

And then it slid down into the depths of the infinite black hole, setting a calmer ambience over the kids. They were set with a feeling of extreme relief, and togetherness.

Bev hugged Bill and Grey let out a breath, shooting the vomit covered Eddie a sad look.

Stanley practically tackled her with a hug, making her laugh lightly and hug him back.
"Guys look." Eddie pointed up. "The kids are floating down."

Bill walked to the edge of the pile, pulling out a small yellow raincoat.
On the tag it read "Georgie Denbrough."

He began to cry, holding the jacket close to him.
The losers gathered around, hugging their friend who had seemingly lost everything, only yesterday.

But at least now, he had his friends.
