The next week
Greyson Elliot is so damn happy.
She hasn't been this happy in so long. Her brother and her moved all the way to Maine because he turned 18 and could finally leave their asshole mother.
And you already heard about the neglectful father.
Needless to say, she hasn't had a whole lot of happiness. But she has friends! Actual friends.
That have stayed her friends for two weeks now.I mean, there is Bowers and his gang of fuckin' lunatics. They do whatever the hell they want.
So that sucks. But other than that, everything is groovy.
Only a week and a half left before summer.
Not that she was doing much in terms of school in the first place.Jared always hounded on her to get homework done, but sitting here at the kitchen table staring at it, she didn't see what the point was.
She threw her pencil on the table and stood up, walking to the phone.
She dialed the familiar number, while twirling the cord with her finger, out of habit."Hello?" The familiar voice mumbled.
"Hey Richie, did you finish you're homework?" She asked him.A loud laugh on the other end.
"I was waiting for you to finish it so I could copy!"
Grey rolled her eyes and hung up on him.She dialed her next number, that almost immediately picked up.
"Ye-yes? Hello?"
"Hey did you finish the homework?""Oh, hey Gre-ey. Uh, y-yah which o-one?"
"Math?"
"S-sure, y-you can come over an-and we can work on it. Also I need your-your help with something."She smiled and grabbed her papers, dropping the phone on the floor.
It made a loud clatter, and cracked the corner.Shit, Jared's going to kill me. She thought.
She picked it back up and put it to her ear.
"Grey? Wh-at was that?"
"I just dropped the phone, sorry. I'll be over in a few."She put the phone down and grabbed the rest of her stuff, shoving it down into her book bag and running out the door.
Bill lives a few streets away, so it wasn't too far of a walk. Especially since Greyson was running the whole time.
She finally got to his house, and stopped in his driveway, panting with her hands on her knees.
Before she walked up the concrete steps, the garage opened and Bill stumbled out."H-hey uh, in here."
He waved her inside.
To anyone else this would look really suspicious, but to Grey it looked interesting. She walked into the garage, to see Bill sorting through photo albums and maps.
In the corner was an intricate system of tubes and water systems."Hey Bill... what is all this?"
"I think I'm getting clo-closer to finding G-G-Georgie."Greyson's heart dropped, as well as the bag in her hand.
"Bill-"
"He w-was right out-outside and he couldn't have g-gone far.""Billy, he-"
"Don't c-call me that!" He snapped.Grey flinched back little ways towards the garage door.
He was starting to scare her a little bit, but she also saw how scared he was.
