We Made an Oath
Greyson Elliot, didn't want to be here anymore.
She was holding a tissue to her nose, while Stanley was holding a comforting hand to her back."Oh my god my nose hasn't bled like that in years." She sighed in frustration, while the group walked towards the exit.
"It was so surreal, and it was holding me underwater. Like... like the quarry! Remember the quarry?"Stanley smiled and nodded.
"Yah, we loved the quarry."
"The quarry was great." She nodded. "But that day I got dragged under."The group was in remembrance of the quarry, smiling at the memory.
"Hey Richie." A child-like voice cut into their thoughts, and he froze. When they turned around, there was a small boy with curly hair.
"How'd you know my name?" He asked the kid.The boy smiled, "The fun is just beginning... right?"
Grey vaguely remembered that phrase.Could have been something that the clown said before, when they were kids?
Could it be something an evil reminder of their past."You think this is funny?" Richie asked, his voice cracking.
"Think this is a game?" He grabbed the boy's shoulder, an it was then that the line hit Grey.It was a line from his act, on his show.
She had seen it occasionally, but it was part of the joke. His parents were standing little ways away, watching the famous comedian and their son.
"Huh? Alright, fuck you!""Richie, be careful, that's-"
"Fuck you! I'm not afraid of you!!" He screamed.Grey wanted to feel bad, but she wanted to laugh more.
She lightly punched Stanley's arm and snickered, taking the bloody tissue away from her nose."The fun's just beginning." The kid repeated, with a much more confused attitude. "It's a line from your act dude. I'm a fan!"
Richie pointed behind him. "Those your parents?"
"Yah!"Grey was dying quietly, trying not to laugh and Stanley nudged her.
"You want a picture?""I think I'm good." He scoffed, turning back to his parents.
Richie groaned and turned around, prompting Grey to burst out into laughter."Jesus Rich, you don't remember the line form your own show?" Ben shoved his hands in his pockets as the group made their way out the door.
"I don't write my own my material."
Eddie grinned and pointed at him. "I knew it! I fucking knew it!"They got outside, and the group immediately started hounding on Mike.
"You lied to us, and that's no okay!" Eddie snapped."Yah, first words out of your mouth should've been like, 'Hey man, want to come to Derry and get murdered?'" Richie ran a hand through his messy hair.
Grey laughed and stared up at the big neon Jade of the Orient sign.
"Why are you fucking laughing?" Eddie pointed at her.She shrugged and put her hands in her jacket pockets.
"Cause it's funny! Guys come on, this is the most fun I've had in years."Stanley gaped at her.
"What? Almost getting murdered in the most repressed town in the world?""No!" She smirked. "Seeing everyone back here, and working towards something."
She smiled at Beverly, reminding her of the words she said that day.
That day when they all fought. The mood settled thicker.
"We have to stop it. I have a plan-" Mike tapped his book, but was interrupted by Richie once again."I have a plan, get the fuck out of dodge before this end worse than one of Bill's books. Who's with me?" He held his hand up, along with Richie and Stanley.
