THE BIG COMPANY

"Lishaa, wake up; it's 10 a.m.," yelled Nadiya, who was standing by the door of her daughter's room. Shaking her head at the messy room.

"Ya Allah! I am late!" yelled Alishaa, throwing her duvet on the floor and running into the bathroom.

She quickly showered and brushed her teeth. She rushed out of the bathroom, taking a comb from her dresser. She brushed her hair, and she tied it in a messy bun.

Moving to her closet to pick an outfit for the day, she did not waste much time. She wore a long blue dress and yellow leggings, keeping a black scarf on her shoulders. She took her backpack and ran out.

Caring less about her look. "Salaam Maaa!" she yelled loud enough for Nadiya to hear; she was preparing sandwiches in the kitchen. "Where are you going?" Asked Nadiya, trying not to laugh at Alisha's appearance. "To work, I am already late," she said, tying her right leg shoelace.

"Does your work start at 7?" Asked Nadiya before she busted out laughing. She laughed harder after seeing Alishaa's shocked face. "You played me again, didn't you?" She asked, removing her one-leg shoe. "I have been trying to wake you up for the past hour, but you refused to wake up."

"Don't worry, Mammy, payback wouldn't be good," she smirked while sitting down on a stool that was next to the kitchen island, opposite her mother.

"Why are you still laughing, Mom?" She asked, then took a huge bite of her sandwich. She released a sigh internally, appreciating how good it tasted. "Your face!" "Do I look that bad?" She asked with her mouth full of bread. "You look horrible," she deadpanned.

"I can't believe I was going out like this." "Don't give me that face; it wasn't my fault you refused to wake up like normal people do." "I am abnormal." She grinned at her mother, who rolled her eyes in return.

"Do you have to work as an assistant?" The mother asked after a few minutes of silence. "I couldn't get any jobs, Maa." "Why won't you show them your sketches? Maybe they would like it since it is a fashion company."

"I would love to, but they only employ experts; even their interns are experts, and I don't think my designs are enough," she said, looking down at her now empty plate and wanting more sandwiches.

"It's okay, Allah is with us! Don't worry, you never know what can happen, right?" "Right Insha'Allah! I will go and dress properly now before I actually end up getting late." "Yup, you need to," her mother replied, pointing at her before going to wash the dirty plates.

Alisha got up from the stool and went to her room. After minutes of looking for an outfit to wear, she found a pink shirt that was just above her knee and a dark denim jean. She tied a white scarf properly over her head, and after putting on a blue wrist watch, she walked out of the room after making sure she looked okay.

"I'm leaving now, Maa," she said to Nadiya. Okay, Lish, Allah Hafiz!" She kissed her forehead. Alishaa replied the same and walked out of her flat after putting on white and pink Jordans. "Hey baby," she said to her sketch book as she entered her Toyota Camry 2006.

"I pray I last in this company. I tried five different companies for the past two months, and I either fought with their managers or they stole my sketches.

I already gave up on the fashion designer thing, and I will just work for anything. Bruh, this isn't easy," she said as she patted her sketch book and started the car.
