Arrogant Bear

Nadiya came out of the kitchen, making up her mind to Alishaa about the three brothers. Three days and didn't see them in her house, she knew it had to do with the fight with Alishaa. She also knows how stubborn Alishaa is, she probably refused to forgive them.

She leaned on the doorframe observing Alishaa who was sitting on the couch, writing on a book.

"You need to forgive them Lisha, holding grudges is a waste of time" she said, crossing her hands. Alishaa glanced up then back at her book, "I did Mammy"

"Then why are you not talking to them?" she stood straight and walked towards her, "I do talk to them" Nadiya rolled her eyes and said, "Yeah, when you are being sarcastic!"

Alishaa looked back shrugged, "We met just a month ago anyway" she stated. Nadiya stared her and sighed, "It is not about him, right?" she said softly.

Alishaa's heart dropped at question, but played it off hoping her mother will let go of the conversation. "What are you talking about?" she asked pretending not to know what her mother was talking about, "You cannot be living in the past, you can't always be running away from people" Nadiya said softly, rounding the couch and sitting next to her.

"I am not living in the past Mama!" she mumbled out, "Then what is all this? You not having any friends like people your age have, you not wanting to get married or even talk about it?" she snapped at her. Alishaa sighed closing the book she was writing on. "Mama, I will work it out inshaAllah," she said, Nadiya sighed and left mumbling words. Having no energy to write anymore, Alishaa stood up, and took her scarf, she wrapped it over her head, deciding to take a walk. She bends down removing her flip-flops from the shoe rack, when Nadiya emerged from the kitchen saying, "This is about him, right? You always get sad over the smallest lies"

"Because lies destroy everything" she said in a very low whisper, "I wasn't thinking about that. I will go and meet them now" she replied looking at her mother. "Well better" she nodded and opened the door.

She was about to close the door when her mother called her, "Alishaa?" she opened the door wider and looked at her mother "Yes?"

"Not everyone is like him, give them a chance maybe it is the start of your happiness you never know anything is possible" she said softly, Alishaa smiled nodding. "Mamma did you get that sentence from a movie?" she teased narrowing her eyes, "Yeah, did I get it right?" Nadiya beamed making Alishaa chuckle. "Masha Allah, for the first time you got it right and perfect for a first time" she complimented giggling, Nadiya grinned proudly, "I knew it!!" she said and fist bumped herself. "Okay, Salaam" Alishaa said still giggling at her mother.

"D-" Before she could finish her sentence Alishaa was already out and had closed the doors. She sighed and walked into her kitchen, "I don't for how long you will keep thinking about what he did and not move on!" she murmured to herself.

Alishaa walked out of her apartment, thinking about whether Zach's Diner would be crowded or not. Remembering it was Saturday, she peacefully started walking to the Diner.

"Salaam Lisha," A voice said behind her. She stopped walking and turned around, Naadir and Rashid breathing heavily, stopped before her. She let out a breath and crossed her hands, "We are really sorry for lying to you" they both said together, "It is okay guys" she said with a smile. She didn't have the intention to hold a grudge and forgiving them will also mean a lot to her mother. One thing she promised herself, is doing anything for her mom, except getting married. That is a line she can't bring herself to cross.

"We are really lucky to have you as a friend" Naadir said smiling guiltily. "Me too, wait how did you escape from those old people?" she asked laughing, "You are really wicked, you know" Rashid said. Looking terrified, as he recalled the incident from two days ago.
