Entry# 8My Beasty has survived, my being was overjoyed when her finger brought me from the tortures of my mind. I could tell I had startled her but that wasn't me, not fully, I was there again. I allowed my voices to speak to me again, their barbaric thoughts driving my mind as I thought of what my life would be without the hybrid.
Those voices, they were what once caused the earth to burn and a bounty from the heavens, every angel wanted me dead. Before Florentine I was a callous and cruel man, I burned and killed anything with a heartbeat, I took pride in being able to reduce a city to ashes before the sun rose, but upon finding Florentine I felt something other than the desire to scorch the earth. She was all that I needed, but now my beast is that and more. If I were to be the cause of her death because of an urge I could not control, I would scorch the earth because there will never be a connection like the one I have with this one.
Because of her hybrid nature her pain and fear excite me more than Florentine ever could, I would destroy the planet to sense the high her fear and her precious tears brought me. But that magnificent taste of her blood and essence would drive any man mad if they could only have one taste. The voices wanted to kill her, to finish draining the last of her soul but when she tapped me, when her magnificent forest green eyes stared down at me, every horrid voice washed away, back to the chamber I have locked them away in. My Beasty was alive and well, craving my attention once again and I could only feel relief as I clung to her, but she did not cling to me, it was as if she were unaware of what nearly happened to her. I fear that she did not know what I had done, that she was unaware of the fate she nearly met, but I am more afraid of her knowledge. Had my Beasty known all along what was happening and stayed silent, had she hoped for her death on that table?
I want to ask but would I be able to handle her truth? Would I burn the city above us if she asked for her death? Would I scorch the earth if she asked it at my hands? Would I destroy the heavens if they took her from me? The answer is yes, to all of them. I would show my true strength and reduce this desperate planet to fire fueled by blood and bodies. All for her.
