There won't be very much flashbacks for a small while. I don't want to keep you guys in suspense forever 😊

Levi's POV

It might have been well over 4 hours until Hanji made us depart onto a mission. Jordan joined us and wouldn't take for an answer. He is in my group along with Hanji. She sent a few other groups to investigate a few suspicious areas. However, it seemed like they were leaving a clear path for Jordan, Hanji, and I to follow. We are lead all the way to the center of wall Sina and then to a large path leading underground.

"No..." I mutter. Jordan looks scared himself. I promised Sora she wouldn't ever have to go back here. I promised her I would protect her... I failed....

"Father..." Jordan mutters. I glance at him and he is holding a piece of paper in his hand.

Immediately I snatch the paper out of his hand and read the contents. It was the letter... Every word makes me cringe. Her son is alive, and is believing a false fairytale that Sora killed his mother... "This is utterly ridiculous.... Why would that snake Erwin tell his son something like that!?"

Hanji speaks up. "We knew that Erwin took Lukas when he was born. He didn't get to see the face of his mother so...."

I snarl at Hanji. "Don't you think I know that!? I was there! She didn't even get to touch her child. She didn't get any time with him!" I clutch my fist containing the paper which makes it crumble up. "This is pissing me off... I can't stand the fact that Erwin, after doing what he did so long ago, wouldn't even allow Sora to have an ounce of happiness left. She struggled everyday just to get out of bed... Scars mark up her body like patterns on a quilt. I always felt terrible that I couldn't do a thing about it."

Jordan pats my shoulder. "Please father... We need to focus on finding Ma." I sigh and nod.

(There will be some cruel things in this next part. Just a warning)

Sora's POV

Once I open my eyes, I find myself handcuffed to a chair, in the center of a one lit candle room. The door in front of me is closed, and I can barely feel a thing. I can't feel the tightness of the rope on my chest. I can't feel the burn of the scraps on my arms and legs. I can't feel the red marks on my ankles swelling. Nothing...

I see the door open in front of me. 2 figures stand in the light and they slowly walk towards me. They both are wearing a hood to cover their hair and a bandana over their mouths. The younger looking man on the right is holding a syringe. The man lifts up my numb wrist and injects the mysterious fluid into my body. I don't feel anything still... It seems like they are trying to drug me to death.

"Do you realize what position you are in? Sora Johnson?" the young man asks. I groggily gaze up to the man. He takes off his hood and bandana. The man looks like... me? Is this... no no.... It can't be... he's... he's dead... right? I can't stop the flow of tears appearing. They flow down my face but I still can't feel a thing. Lukas... Why is he doing this...?

Suddenly I can feel pain. What ever they gave me...must have conquered my numbness... I feel pain... So much pain... Lukas is punching my stomach over and over again. It's making me very dizzy. I can't stay awake....

Suddenly, the other hooded man takes my head and slams it against the ground. Then he brings me back up. I can feel the blood dripping out of the gash on the back of my head. My mouth has blood flowing out as well.

The man takes his hood off. To my surprise, the one who made my life miserable stands before me. Erwin Smith. "I'm glad you have survived this long Sora. I have raised my son to avenge his mother and kill you."

He turns to Lukas. His blue eyes look emotionless and ready. "Now, untie her so we can bring her to the 'pool'". Lukas nods and unties my battered body. I can't explain the pain I feel as he lifts my light, malnourished body over his shoulder. My body slowly begins to numb again. I can't feel then pain of my almost skinless wrists and ankles. I can't feel the pain in my head when the hard ground connected with my skull. I can't feel a thing...

When we exit the building and enter a dark cave, in the center there is a large pool filled with water. It is surprisingly clear and it smells abnormally normal. Lukas throws me onto the ground and looks at Erwin. I can't say a word as I see Lukas nod to his father. I can feel my body lightly pushed into the clear water.

I can see the blood from my injuries flow above me to the surface of the water. I can't move and I can't do a thing about drowning.

Drowning is like giving up. You feel defenseless as soon as you feel the first puff of water entering your lungs. That is how I feel now... I have to give up... No one is coming for me... I can't hold it in forever. I gasp for air and I'm greeted by water. It fills my lungs as I slowly fade away... I can't do anything... But... I want Levi to come... Levi... Please....

Levi's POV

The house we were lead to was empty. A single chair was set in the middle. I slowly walk over to the ropes and the chair. Smears of blood mark the chair and rope. One blood spot catches my eye. Behind the chair, a large smear of blood sweeps across the floor. They must have injured their head somehow...

"Did they torture Ma?" Jordan asks me softly. I sigh and continue looking around. I notice a few syringes laid across the ground. Hanji is already looking at it as I walk over.

"Drugs... From what Mike is telling me, these are drugs that make you extremely immune to pain for a while, and another practically eats up the nutrients that you currently have in your body to make you weak. Sora was already sick prior to this... I'm not sure... If she could...," She stops. I am getting extremely frustrated... My thoughts were interrupted by Mike screaming something.

"They found her!!!" My hearts stops as I push past him and start running. I run towards the area the other soldiers are. They are looking at something in a cave. I immediately notice the pool in the center and dive in. I don't care about catching a cold because I'm wearing clothes while swimming. All I care about is getting Sora from the bottom of this place.

I grab her side and swim back up as fast as I could. Once I get to the surface, I listen to her heart to see if she is alive. I hear a faint beat. And somehow she is breathing. She couldn't have been down there long. The pool was stained red from Sora's blood. I carefully examine her and see where she is injured.

I am amazed... that she is still alive... There is no skin in her ankles and wrists. Burns and gashes mark her body like patterns on a quilt. She looks extremely hungry. She seems to have lost some body weight... I can't take it... Seeing Sora like this is killing me inside. I wish it was me. Why couldn't it have been me...? I can't hold it in... I hover over her and stuff my face into her wet shirt, and cry...

I don't want Sora to die... I want her to live. Please Sora... Don't die...
