A year older?

A few day passed without the guys hearing something from each other..
until..

Heiko was walking with Nila when he felt his phone going off in his pocket. Het took it out and saw that Chris was calling him.

"Hello, Chris"
"Mr. Hiersche"
"Why the formal calling?"
"Because I felt like it.."
"How can I help you?" Asked Heiko with a dramatic voice.
Chris laughed. "I'm calling you for Richi his birthday."
"Ah.. Yes! What are the plans?"
"We figured we will show up the night before his birthday, so when it's 12:00 AM. We will be able to celebrate it."
"Sounds good!"

Chris continued explaining what they were planning.

"we need you to distract him! Take him somewhere so we can decorate the house and bring everything inside. Kiara will help us with it.. We will have Kiara at the DJ booth, we have Till at the bar.. It will be great! He will never expect this since we have a party planned the next evening for him and Rike together!"

"that's right. I will take care of it."
"PERFECT!"

they ended the call. Heiko looked at Nila who now sat in front of his feet looking up at him.
"you done?"
She looked at him with confusion.
"Let's go home! I have something to plan"
Nila ran after Heiko.

Once Heiko arrived home, he took his laptop. He searched some things to do. After a while Nila jumped on his lap. "You are way too big to be sitting on my lap and you know that Nila.." She didn't bother to get off. "but since you are here.. how does this sound?.. First we go for lunch, Then we will go shopping for some new clothing for his birthday and after we will go for dinner.. then it should be time for the party to begin."  Nila just looked at him with her tongue hanging out. "I guess that means it's a good plan.." He petted Nila on the head.

~23 June~

Heiko drove his car towards Richi his house. It was 12:00Pm, Perfect time for lunch. He rang Richi his doorbell, who opened the door. Heiko took the elevator up to the highest floor, where Richi was already waiting for him.
"What brings you here mr. Hiersche.. You are a day too early."
Heiko laughed. "I know.. I'm here to take you for lunch.."
"you take me for lunch?? That's a surprise."
"So.. You coming with me?"
"Sure.. let me grab my jacket."

They went into Berlin to their favorite lunch place. They talked some about what Richi had planned for the birthday party of him and Rike. It was a coincidence that these two had their birthdays on the same day.

When they finished lunch they went shopping for new clothing. Heiko used the excuse that Richi needed to look "amazing" on his birthday.

~Chris his perspective~

Chris met up with Till in front of Richi his house. Kiara opened the door for them. They walked inside and brought all the things inside with them.

"so.. Here comes the DJ booth, Here the bar.. " Kiara already planned ahead.
"great idea" Said till.

they started decorating everything as planned. They were filling balloons with helium, Hanging decorations trough the whole room. And surely not to forget, They brought food and drinks. After a few hours they looked around.

"This must be it!" Said till
"It's perfect" said Chris when he noticed he was being called. He picked up the phone. It were his children who wanted to bake a cake tomorrow for their mother and richi their birthday. Chris promised them he would help them tomorrow. They gave some kisses trough the phone. And ended the call..

~Heiko his perspective ~
Heiko and richi finished shopping and sat at a restaurant now. Heiko got a message of Chris saying that they finished and were waiting for all guests now.
After they finished their food and had some drinks Heiko asked:
"Should we go back?"
"Why the hurry out of nowhere?"
"Oh.. I have something important to do.."
"What's that?"
"Hard to explain"
"Oke.. mysterious guy.."

They drove back to Richi his house. They went inside and went to the top floor with the elevator. Heiko texted chris: 'we are on our way'.. Richi opened the door and walked in to the room. When the door opened Till and Kiara shot some confetti at Richi.

"WHAT IS THIS?!"
All the guests laughed and Till explained that they wanted to celebrate it the right way, since this is a great excuse to come together in the "corona times."

Richi laughed and said: "fine.. Where is my drink?" They all cheered.
The night got filled with music, amazing stories and lot's of laughter. At some point Heiko walked outside onto the rooftop and looked at the sunset. He heard footsteps from behind him.

"It's still amazing isn't it?"
"Definitely... I have to be honest that I am kind of jealous of this."
Heiko looked over to see Richi laughing at him.
Richi stood next to Heiko now and looked at him.
"Was this your idea?"
"Not really.. I had to be the distraction."
"Either way.. I had an amazing day.. Thank you.." he said while he gave Heiko a kiss on the cheek and a hug.
"And your birthday hasn't even started yet.." said Heiko.
Richi smiled. "I am sure my birthday will be even better.."

They went back inside and enjoyed some more drinks. Around 4 am everyone left, because they would be there again that evening to celebrate some more. Heiko staid over at Richi his place. He promised to help clean up the mess the next day.
