Grace's POV:
After watching Mal leave through the window, I knew that it would be time that we would be returning to the Isle. So, with that I begin to get ready. I start by going to the shop and getting some red hair dye. I then dye my whole hair red. While that dries, I put on some yellow nail polish. I sigh as I look at the clothes hanging off my wardrobe, just looking at the normal colours that I've grown up with, makes all the difference. There is then a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" I ask, while I put a towel around my hair, hiding the red.
"It's Evie, Carlos, Jay, Ben and Blaise." Evie voice sounds from the other side. I look at myself in the mirror, checking you can't see anything I wouldn't want them to, since I'm still in my towels.
"Ummm, is it going to take long?" I ask them.
"Why?" Carlos asks.
"I've just had a shower, so I'm in a towel." I explain, while I hide the hair dye box.
"No, it shouldn't take too long." Ben says, with that I go to the door and open it. I invite them in. They all come in and sit on the beds.
"Where's Lonnie?" Jay asks.
"She's having a girl day with Jane." I explain, while I go to the desk and add glitter to the top of the yellow on my nails. "How can I help? I'm already behind, it took me a while to pick out the right outfit. I'd hidden all my leather jackets at the back of the wardrobe. And then the yellow nail polish was hard to find, that was also in the bag with my old short-" I ramble.
"Grace?" Carlos calls, making me stop rambling, I look up from my nails to see them all looking at me confused.
"What?" I ask.
"What are you talking about?" Jay asks.
"I take it as you've come here to tell me that tonight, we are going to the Isle to go and bring Mal back, which by the way she doesn't really want, but who am I to judge. If that's-" I ramble, to be cut off by Carlos again.
"Grace." He says, I look to him. "Stop rambling." I nod.
"How did you know why we were coming here?" Ben asks. I wink and hit my finger against the side of my nose.
"What? Did you use magic to solve your problems again? Did it give you some magical insight?" Blaise asks bitterly, my head snaps to him, I see the others looking shocked at Blaise's outburst. I stand to face him.
"If you must know, earlier this morning I knew she was going to leave to the Isle at some point, but I didn't know when. So, I made her promise to come and see me before she left- whether it be a week later or even a year, as long as she did-, which she did. Just after our date, and also hers and Ben's date, and we both had a cry about the reactions our boyfriends had to finding out that we were using our magic to fit in better so we wouldn't ruin their reputations." I say angrily. "She told me she was going, and I almost went with her. But I knew that Ben would want to go after her, so we would all end up going. So, I gave her the alone time I knew she needed. Does that answer your question? Does that prove I'm not just some witch bitch and that I actually care for my friends? Maybe you need to understand that some people aren't selfish and do things to help others. Maybe you need to look at the whole picture before jumping to conclusions." I then pull Blaise's ring from my finger and throw it at him. "I'll be ready for tonight, come and get me." I say to the others, and slam the door to my bathroom closed. I hear some muffled conversations, and then footsteps. I hear the door close, and then nothing.
"Grace?" A voice calls, Carlos' voice. I open the door to see him sitting on his own. He smiles to me. "Are you alright?"
"Do I sound alright, Carlos? Is anything about this situation alright?" I ask him, he just shakes his head.
"Were you really thinking about going back to the Isle?" He asks me, I sit beside him and nod. "Is that why your eyes went golden? Was it like Mal's?"
"No, my eyes went golden, when Mal's went green. But that's only because I was using my magic to stop her 'pull'. I was stopping the evil from taking a pull on her." I explain.
"That's nice of you." He comments. I shrug.
"That's what you do for your best friends." I reply. He puts an arm around my shoulder, pulling me into him. He plants a brotherly kiss to my cheek, considering my head in covered with a towel.
"Even though you haven't been close with us for too long, I just want you to know that we appreciate you and think of you as part of the original gang." Carlos tells me, I smile to him.
"You should go and get ready." I tell him. He nods and makes his way to the door, he gives me one last wave and then he goes through the door.
Once he leaves, I finish getting ready. Leaving me time to worry about what might happen on the Isle...
