It was only five minutes after Robb and I had walked away from my father and brother that we heard the shouting and screaming, and then the bell ringing from it's perch high above the snow coated Winterfell.

I am in Robb's room, as I look through his window down at the courtyard, to see my father run into the stables.

But my brother is not there.

"He left Jaison." I spit out bitterly, as I see my younger brother being dragged into the courtyard, and a crowd of tired people woken from their slumber gather around his bruised body shouting abuse at him.

They shine torches of fire down on him, shouting. The dark sky is lit up by it, an orange hue setting across the air.

"Don't watch, Marienne. We know what will happen to him." I hear Robb say, as he walks over to the window and places an arm around my shoulder.

"I warned them. They knew what would happen. Is it wrong I hope my father is found?" I glance at Robb, who has a hard look on his face.

"They knew the price. Where's your father?"

"He ran into the stables over there." I point out as Robb squints to look, but you can just see my fathers feet shuffling about.

"He's a coward." I say.

I haven't seen my brother in three years, and when I finally do he attempts to assassinate the King's son.

That's family for you.

"We could tell the King we saw your father? I know I would not like to see Jon in this position."

"Would they believe us? My brother was gone when I left Marhal. He is the brother I will remember, the happy child who wouldn't harm a fly, but would do anything to protect Anna. That's who I will remember, not this boy."

"What is the meaning of this!" A voice bellows out, and my eyes flick across the glass to the plump, messy haired man trotting down the steps to my brother in barely any clothes, his over sized stomach hanging out the bottom of his nightshirt.

Robert Baratheon used to be muscular and handsome once, my mother told me. But that was then and this is now.

"Your King!" The Guards who dragged out my brother kneel before Robert, who pulls them up in impatience.

"Why have I been woken up at this ungodly hour!" Piles of spit fling themselves from Robert's mouth and onto the unlucky guard's face, who grimaces away.

"The Fortitudo boy attempted to murder your son and wife, my King."

I've never seen a look of rage like the one on Robert's face, and I know the outcome will not be good.

"Where are they both now?"

"Your wife and children have left for Kings Landing, they expect to see you there."

"What is going on!" Yet another set of voices appear, and this time it's Eddard and Catelyn.

"This boy tried to kill my wife and Son!" He points a finger at my brother, shaking with anger, glaring at the quivering boy.

"I wasn't alone!" My brother raises his voice, trying to stand but failing as his foot slips under him, bruised from the Guard's kicks.

"What do you mean, boy? Speak up!"

"I didn't do this by myself, please, get my father! He'll tell you it all!"

"He is underestimating our father, he is a coward. He will not protect Jaison, when the price could be death." I say to Robb, who wraps his arms around my waist.
