"Which is more dangerous, the dagger brandished by an enemy, or the hidden one pressed to your back by someone you never even see?"- Peter Baelish
"Robb!" My mother calls my name, as I ride back into Winterfell, my Direwolf close behind me.
She stands by the tower my younger brother Bran fell from months ago, staring at me and beckoning me towards her.
Marienne had left Winterfell with the Lannisters three months ago, but she was yet to reply. I didn't take much notice, I would wait forever for her.
I jump from my horse, which is guided back to the stables by the stableboy, and I walk towards my mother, her red hair flying around in the cool breeze.
"Why are you standing out here?" I ask her, and turns her head up to look at the tower.
"I was just wondering how Bran fell. He was one of the most skilled climbers.. I don't think he fell accidentally. Another tale for another time. We have many problems, my child." She shakes her head, and begins to walk towards the main Hall. I follow next to her, pulling off my riding gloves.
"And what are these?"
"Marienne, Robb. Your father tells me you plan to marry the girl." She turns to me, with a disapproving look.
"And what is wrong with this, mother? You always told me I should marry my true love, no matter what anyone else says. Marienne is my true love."
"You may think that now, but it could prove suicidal Robb. Her brother attempted to murder Cersei and her son Joffrey, which has dented the relationship between the Fortitudos and the Lannisters, even if they don't know it yet. And if we are connected with the Fortitudos in any way they'll think we helped the plot! And who knows what would happen if the Starks and the Lannisters began a war.. Your father and sisters are within their reach.." My mother begins to ramble on, talking herself into a state of worry.
What she spoke was truth, but I knew I couldn't just bury my feelings for Mari.
"Marienne is worth a war. I would fight a thousand wars if it meant I could be with her." I turn to my mother as she sighs. Her hand reaches up to my face as she flattens one of the many curls that had sprung from my head as I rode.
"Well, if you love her as much as you say, I guess I could try to convince your father. But the consequences will be on you, Robb."
"But, is it worth it my child? She hasn't wrote to you since she left.."
"My Lady! We have guests!" One of my mothers loyal guards run up to her, with a worried look on his face, interrupting our conversation. He bows to us, but continues to pant heavily.
She looks at me, "We weren't expecting anyone.."
We stand in still for a second, staring at each other in confusion. The only sound that can be heard is the whistling of the trees, as they bring a bad omen.
"Let's go find out who it is then."

"This bread and salt is disgusting. Is this what you feed all of your guests?" An irritable voice whines from the hall, as my mother and I walk in.
We are greeted by a trail of blood, the metallic smell causing my mother to gag.
Standing by the windows were Ramsay and Roose Bolton, the daggers they held in their pockets glistening as the sun bared down on them through the window. Two of their guards were holding a limp, bloodied body, blood oozing from the wounds that we could not see, as they were all turned the other way.
