Sly's POV (A couple days later)

It's been so long since we've seen Jess. Where did you go Mi Amor? Everyone misses you.

I pick up Lake and carry her up the stairs of the Stark tower and into her bedroom that sits across from mine, it's nap time for her. Her birthday is in a week, and I really want to give her a good birthday gift, she's turning 304 immortal years old. She deserves it. She is my daughter after all.

Honestly, when Jess and I began dating, I was so surprised at how quickly Lake took to her. Mind you, Lake was only just under 3 human years old when I began dating Jess, so she didn't really understand at the time.

Fun fact, people born with immortality don't properly gain their immortality until after they turn 3.

I sit her down and tuck her in, turning on her bedside lamp. "Daddy?" she asks me, laying down.

"Yes Lakey?" I ask, calling her by her nickname.

"Will we ever seen Mummy Jess again?" she asks.

My heart breaks, shatters into a million pieces. Hearing her say 'Mummy Jess' strikes something sensitive since she has always called Jess that. Jess was the only mum figure that Lake knew because her real mother, Katie, died before Lake was born.

How is Lake here then? It's a similar situation to how Jess and her sister Shelby were born, by extracting their essences and put into Starfire to continue growing. It was the same with Lake, but Katie was already dead when Lake was killed from her. I had to find a surrogate for Lake fast since she was dying, very quickly.

It wasn't actually Jess that gave birth to Lake in the end, it was actually my older cousin who agreed to do this for me. Turns out, at least for us, we have to be over 1530 immortal years old to surrogate somebody else's baby, so I had to find somebody who was willing to do that for me.

I owe Alice a lot.

I sigh, wiping my tears and then look at Lake. I don't want to upset her, "O-Of course we will! It'll happen soon!" I say, mostly trying to convince myself more than Lake.

She nods, "Okay".

I hum her to sleep and then leave the room, turning the light off before I close the door, leaving her lamp on. I go into my room and sigh, going onto the balcony. I sit down on the bench and put my face in my hands. Jess, why did you leave? Was it me? Did I do something wrong?

One moment she was here, the next she was gone, most of her things left behind, except for a few pictures and some clothes.

I look up to the sky. It was pretty cloudy, but it wasn't raining. It probably will soon enough.

(Rain starts)

I shouldn't have spoke. Well, may as well sing away my sadness like I always do.

Jess's POV (Around the same time as Sly's POV)

I weakly sit up in my bed, coughing. Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan have been trying to get in to see if I'm okay, but I'm refusing to let them. They don't know anything about my past and they never will.

I stand up, my legs wobbly and stagger over to the window. The rain had started up again. I press my hand against to wall to try and keep myself steady. This is a lot harder than it seems. Willow, I hope you hurry back.

I look up to the cloudy sky and start singing, not the one I'm writing, but just a song I'd come up with then and there.

3rd POV

(Play- Meet me Halfway by Black Eyed Peas)

Jess looks up at the sky and begins singing. "Ooh... I can't go any further than this... ooh, I want you so badly, it's my biggest wish"
