Chapter 7- "Am I in your head?"

Sly's POV

I slowly read Jess's letter, word for word, not lifting my head for even a split second.

Dear Sly,

Can you meet me halfway?

I know you're probably confused on what that means, and where i've been, but allow me to explain. You and The Few know that I disapeered out of nowhere, I have a reason. Loki forced me to leave, or he would kill all of you. He told me that nothing would happen to any of you, or me, if I left. He lied. He has put a barrier around me that stops me from using my powers, and he put up a barrier about halfway between me and you guys that doesn't let me get through. Anything else can, but I can't. I need you to meet me there so we can figure out how to take that barrier down so I can get through, but we also have to figure out how to take this barrier off of my body so I can use my powers. I can teleport, but not out of the barrier. Willow can show you where the border is, but you might be waiting a while for me since Willow needs to get back to me since my energy will be draining a lot while she's gone, which will eventually lead me to death. Please, if you get this, please meet me halfway.

My eyebrows raise in surprise. Jess needs us.

"Kala" I say, not looking up from the note, "Gather everyone, we have a mission" I order.

"On it!" Kala says before picking up Lily and rushing inside of The Hall to gather everyone. I look to Willow, "Come with me" I say.

We begin running back towards Stark Tower. We'll need to be so quick or Jess could die.

Arriving inside of the Stark Tower, we run up the stairs to see Alex just coming down. "Alex, get ready, we have a mission. Jess needs us" I say, running by him.

"On it!" he calls out before running down the stairs and out of the Stark tower. I rush into Lake's room to see that she's still asleep. I go over and wake her up. "Lake, sweetheart, it's time to wake up" I say.

She stirs and then opens her eyes, "W-What's going on?" she asks. She looks at Willow, "Who's that?" she asks.

"My name is Willow, I'm one of Jess's souls" Willow introduces herself.

"Mummy Jezebel... Won't she die if you're out?" Lake asks confused. Okay, where did Lake learn about this? Who told her?

Willow bites her bottom lip, "Well, we have to be quick" Willow says, "I'll be waiting outside the tower for you" Willow speaks before running off. I nod.

"Let's get you dressed and ready to go, we have to find Jess" I say, picking Lake up. I go over to her closet and pull out a simple white knee length dress and black leggings and black boots.

Putting them on her, I grab her brush and start combing her medium length brown hair, not bothering to put it up, put I put a hairband across her head.

I go into my room, Lake following me, and I pull on my Silverman suit. Picking up Lake again, I go over to the balcony, taking a deep breath before flying out and down to the ground. I see Willow waiting for us so I float in front of her. She smiles and nods. We begin moving in the direction of The Hall where everyone will be waiting for us. Lake was holding on tight to me.

When we arrive, I tell everyone what's going on. All of them were ready to go, suited up, weapons polished and ready to fight just in case. Kala had Lily beside her, dressed in a light pink long sleeved top and black shorts, with black trainers (or sneakers for the Americans). Her pale blonde hair is also down, but there's a flower crown on her head.
