Chapter 3- Sneaking Suspicions

Jess's POV (20 Minutes Later)

I straighten myself up. Kawaii~Chan just called me down for dinner and I don't want to act sad around her or Katelyn, cause then they'll question it. I look in the mirror and quickly clear my head, bringing a fake smile to my face. "You got this Jess. Just don't act sad and they won't question you" I tell myself quietly before taking a deep breath and walking out the door.

"Coming" I call down over the banister and then begin down the stairs with a fake pep in my step. Katelyn peers around the corner of the kitchen and smiles slightly, "Come on slow-poke" she shakes her head playfully.

I shake my head at her too and sit down on the couch. Katelyn hands me my plate of food then sits down on the other couch with hers. Kawaii~Chan comes in soon after and sits down beside me, her tail almost hitting me in the face but I dismiss it, knowing it was a mistake.

Katelyn turns on the TV and begins flicking through the channels while the sound of cutlery on the plates makes itself apparent throughout the room. She stops on a gameshow that we like to watch a lot, The Chase. I hadn't heard of it before coming here.

We all just sit in silence for a little bit, eating and watching TV. I try not to wander off into my thoughts cause I know one of them will notice and question it.

"So, how was work for you both?" I ask after swallowing down a munched up carrot.

Katelyn shrugs, "It wasn't bad, although there was this one guy trying to flirt with me, and it wasn't Travis for a change" she says.

I chuckle. "What about you, KC?" I ask, turning my head towards the meif'wa. She smiles, "It was fun! We reached a huge milestone in how many customers we got in one day at the maid café" she says.

"How many did you get?" Katelyn asks. "We got around 300 today, normally we only get about 200 in a day" Kawaii~Chan smiles.

"That's great!" I smile.

"What about you Aph? What did you do today? Apart from sit out in the rain with no coat" Katelyn asks.

I glare at her playfully. "You know, this and that. I'm working on a so- story" I cut myself off. Even though it's stupid, I don't want them to know about the song i'm writing, cause they'll ask me to sing it, I just know it.

"What's the story about?" Kawaii~Chan asks.

My heart thumps loudly. What do I say?! "Um... just a... y'know, a love story" I hesitate.

"Go on?" Katelyn pushes.

I can feel Willow trying her best to not make me yell at her. Oh yeah, Willow and Phoenix have the ability to control what I do.

I bite my bottom lip lightly, "It's just... standard, prince meeting his princess" I shrug nervously.

"Aw, that's so simple! Please tell me they have some sort of big adventure!" Katelyn says.

"Sure" I say. She grins and gets back to watching the TV.

I sigh internally. She really likes to question everything.

We all go silent again, eating dinner and watching TV. The rain has slowed down outside and the sun is coming back out, just a little since the sun is almost gone, because, y'know, the sun is setting after all. Tomorrow is going to be busy for me. I'll be spending a lot of time in my room making plans for getting back to The Few and maybe even finishing the song. I probably won't put the plan into reality for a few days, I do need to make sure it all makes sense and that I won't mess anything up.

Willow and Phoenix can help me, but there's only so much they can do since they can't leave my body.
