Your POV

I almost spit out my cereal as I heard the news on the TV.

"The president's dead?!" I gasped. The president was shot by a mutant. The mutant went by the name of 'Magneto', or Erik. Shit. The media was going to go crazy. Another god damn mutant causing problems. We weren't ever going to be accepted. I looked down at the mess I had caused. I grabbed a few paper towels and cleaned it up. I'll probably tell Peter about my powers today. Before everything gets worse. I'm scared he'll hate me... He might. I sighed and pulled out my bag. I stuffed some food in and my headphones. We had plans to go hang out at the park. It should be nice. Should be nice. I slung my bag over my shoulders and headed out.

I looked up at Peter.

"Why would he have killed the president? I mean, what did the president do wrong?" I asked. Peter shrugged.

"Who knows. Some people just hated him. It's life," Peter answered. I frowned.

"Well, that life sucks," I grumbled.

"Yeah," he chuckled. He glanced at me. I noticed and he looked away. "Hey, Y/N?"

"Yes?"

"Can I show you something? You have to promise not to get scared," Peter cautioned. Scared? Why would I get scared?

"You can show me anything. I promise I won't get scared," I assured. He nodded and I felt a whoosh of wind. I frowned as the leaves flew. Peter now had a comic book in his hand. He gave it to me. I looked down at my hands. This comic... I stopped walking.

"This was on your couch at your house... How?" I questioned.

"I'm a 'mutant'. I, uh, run pretty fast. Like. Really really fast," he mumbled. Peter rubbed the back of his neck nervously. I blinked a couple of times. I let out a breath of relief.

"That makes things so much easier!" I chirped. He looked at me and frowned.

"Huh?"

"Peter, I'm a 'mutant' too," I stated. I gave him the comic book back and turned into a clone of him. His eyes went wide and he got closer.

"Woah-ho! I didn't know I was that handsome!" Peter exclaimed.

"In your dreams," I laughed. He smiled. I transformed back to my self and looked around. I don't think anyone saw us. He nudged me playfully.

"You sure they aren't in yours?" He asked. We started walking again. I bit the insides of my cheeks softly. To a certain extent, he was in my dreams. I know it feels like I might like him romantically, but I'm not sure. He's perfect, handsome, amazing. I just don't know if I really do like him in that way.

"Yeah, I'm real sure," I muttered. He put his hands in his pockets and changed the subject.

"So, does anybody else know about your powers?" Peter questioned. I shook my head.

"I think my mom might know, but I'm unsure," I admitted. He nodded. "What about you?"

"My whole family knows. Everyone except my mom is a 'mutant'," he explained.

"Can we not say 'mutant'? I hate that word. We're no different than other people," I cringed.

"Sure." Peter looked up. "What time is it?" I shrugged.

"Who knows. Why?" I asked.

"My mom needs me home by two o'clock to watch my little sister," he told. I nodded.

"It's fine with me."

"Alright. Do you want me to walk you home?"

"Nah, I'm okay," I said.

"Oh. Okay. Bye, Y/N!" Peter shouted before using his powers to speed off home. I sighed and started my walk home. Did I like him? He's everything and more but what if my feelings for him are fake? What if my feelings are playing with me? He probably doesn't even like me. I'm nothing compared to him. There are so many other girls. Why am I worried? I don't even like him this way. Nothing to worry about. Nothing...

Two knocks. Three knocks. Four knocks. I think. I opened the door. The clock said four o'clock. Peter was standing right in front of me when I had fully opened the door.

"Hey, Peter. What's up?" I asked. I moved so he could step inside. He came inside with three other people. I frowned.

"Not much. I have some people here who want to talk to you," Peter announced. Shit. Was it wrong to tell him I have powers? Is he really someone who...

"Hey, kid. Before you get the wrong idea, we're 'mutants' like you. We just need you for something. We already told Peter and he told us you might be able to help," the man explained. "I'm Logan, this is Hank, and this is Charles."

"To get straight to the point, we need you and Peter to..." Charles started.

"Break into prison." Charles finished. "To be exact, the Pentagon. The lowest floor."
