Azar stared at her reflection as she pulled her hair back into a high ponytail. She never thought that she would be putting on the familiar black and blue shielded suit again, especially for a war that they might not even survive.
Her eyes landed on the familiar golden star that was position in the middle of her chest, and she let out a soft sigh before she felt herself being gently pulled back against her husband's body as he wrapped his arms around her from behind.
He placed a soft kiss against her cladded shoulder. "You're worried." Bucky stated, watching her close her eyes.
There were only a few people in the world who could read Azar like an open book, two of them being Bucky and her twin sister.
"Aren't you?" She asked softly.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't." The soldier replied which made the brunette turn around to face him.
"I'm terrified." He admitted with a small smile, raising a hand to stroke her cheek softly.
"I don't even want to think about what could go wrong.." Azar said, leaning her face into his hand.
"Don't." Bucky scolded softly
"Everything is going to be fine." He said, kissing the top of her head as he rubbed her back.
T'Challa stood outside of the Palace, a few feet away from the landing pad, surrounded by the Dora Milaje and his Kingsguard as a quinjet made its descent.
The exit ramp descended and the occupants disembarked - Steve and Artemis in the lead, followed by Sam, Natasha, Rhodey and Bruce, with Wanda and Vision slowly taking the rear.
"Seems like I'm always thanking you for something." Steve said as he shook hands with T'Challa, Artemis doing the same.
The sound of someone clearing their throat and Rhodey's astonishment, caused the group to turn and find Bruce awkwardly bowing to T'Challa.
"Uh, we don't do that here." The King dissuaded the scientist with a motion of his hand, causing Bruce to shoot a slightly annoyed look at Rhodey, who simply grinned at him.
"So how big of an assault can we expect?" T'Challa asked as he began leading the group towards the Palace.
"Uh, sir," Bruce rushed up between Steve and Artemis. "I think you can expect quite a big assault." He responded.
"How we looking?" Artemis asked.
"You will have my Kingsguard, the Border Tribe, the Dora Milaje, and.." The King trailed off, pointing towards two figures.
"A semi-stable, 100-year-old man." Bucky said with a smile as he walked over to Steve, Azar rolling her eyes with a smile of her own at her husband's joke.
While the two best friends shared a hug, Azar hugged her sister who she hadn't seen in 2 years.
"It's so good to see you again." She said before stepping back. "Phone calls weren't enough."
"I know." Artemis replied, smiling softly.
"So show me!" Azar grinned excitedly as her twin held up her hand, showing her the diamond engagement ring that adorned her left ring finger.
"I'm impressed." The younger brunette said while nodding before she turned to Steve, who stood beside her sister once more. "Nicely done, Gramps."
Rolling his eyes at the nickname, the blonde soldier chuckled softly and smiled appreciatively at his soon to be sister-in-law. "Thank you, Danvers."
"Actually," The younger twin drew out with a grin, wrapping her arm around Bucky as he stared at her with a smile. "It's Barnes, now."
Artemis arched an eyebrow as Steve furrowed his in confusion. The couple looked at each other briefly before turning their attention back to Bucky and Azar, who wore amused smiles.
