Jonathan screamed for every night for weeks before finally falling into a deep sleep. Both Magnus and the Silent Brothers were stumped and had no reason his current state; their only explanation was that being consumed by heavenly fire then injected with demon blood left him in a sort of limbo. He was at war with himself and wouldn't wake up until one side won. That was months ago; now a very pregnant Isabelle and a newly showing Clary took turns looking after him. Things had been very quiet since the battle with Valentine. Alec had moved back in with Magnus and they had adopted a daughter that they named Cassidy; she was also a warlock. She had olive skin and curly dark brown hair with hazel green eyes. Clary and Isabelle had taken a much needed vacation from worrying to go shopping, With Izzy due soon and Clary right behind her they'd lacked on the preparation and shopping, they hadn't even thought of names yet. "I hope it's a girl" Izzy said rubbing her stomach and eating a fry at Takis. "I love my niece and I'll love my son all the same but come on, Jace and Jonathan alone are enough. Could you imagine another set of them" Izzy laughed and Clary joined her. "That's scary" Clary added. Both phones went off, it was from Jace "Alec and Magnus are here come quick" They paid the bill and waddled back to the institute and was met by church who showed them to Jonathan's room. When they walked in they gasped together, Jonathan was practically glowing. Isabelle dropped her bags and rushed to his side smiling bigger than she had in a long time. "You've been away far too long Jonathan" she smiled and lightly kissed his lips and her heart soared when he kissed her back. "I missed you too Iz" he smiled against her mouth. "Jonathan!" she screamed hugging him tightly and once released his hands went right to her swollen belly; he leaned in and kissed it over and over again and she could feel the joy radiating from it. "What is it" he asked with a huge smile on his face. "Magnus won't say" she said rolling her eyes. "You're gonna be an uncle too" Izzy said pointing at Clary who was crying on Jace's shoulder. He jumped up and pulled his sister into his arms before kneeling and kissing her belly as well before turning to Jace.

"You knocked up my sister"

"You're one to talk" Jace shot back and they embraced casually. "Now that you're awake you can tend to that one" he said glaring at Izzy. "Her and Clary have been practically glued to each other and having two hormonal pregnant women in one place is a nightmare" he said earning a slap on the arm from Clary. "Auntie Clary!!!" a small voice sang and Cassidy burst into the room and hugged Clary's belly. "Sorry Clary" Alec smiled and tried detaching the little girl but she wouldn't budge. "Who's she?" Jonathan asked curiously. "Cassidy is Alec and Magnus's daughter, she's four" Clary said hoisting the little girl into her arms. Alec embraced Jonathan and stared at his sister's smiling face; she was happy, she hadn't been this happy in a long time. They'd left and headed out to find Maryse, she'd only ever seen him in his sleeping state and would want to know he was awake. When they entered the Library Maryse dropped her tea shattering the cup at her feet. She slowly came around the large desk slowly her dark eyes never leaving his face "Sebastian Morganstern, I am Maryse Lightwood" she said officially extending her hand. "I prefer Jonathan thank you" he said taking her hand. "I'll have to notify The Clave that you've finally awakened; they'll want to speak with you right away" she said looking between him and Isabelle quickly before turning away. "Iz chinese?" Clary asked and Izzy squealed happily and they both smiled at Jace who looked at Jonathan. "Your turn bro" Jace grinned. "I don't mind, I wanted to see Jocelyn and Luke anyway" he shrugged and it got uncomfortably quiet. Clary looked at Isabelle who nodded and lead Jonathan out of the room. Moments later Jonathan sat with his head on Izzy's shoulder, he hadn't known Jocelyn well but he felt for her and Luke. A light knock on the door and Jace peeked in "making a food run, text me what you want" he said closing the door but Jonathan jumped up and left with him needing to clear his head. "What was she like?" Jon asked Jace as they walked. "I didn't know her well, she tried to kill me a couple times" Jace laughed. "She was like Clary, strong, stubborn and loved hard" he concluded. "Is Clary having a boy?" he asked curiously; Jace only shrugged. "Cassidy seems really attached to Clary"

"She has been ever since she got here, her mother dropped her off at a mundane orphanage when she realized what she was. We got a tip that she was being transferred to an asylum and was asked to stop it. When we got to her Alec and Magnus loved her instantly, she wasn't bad; she was just a scared child who had no one to help her. They adopted her and she has been attached to Clary ever since, you too" Jace said laughing. "Sometimes she would disappear and we would always find her in your room staring at you" he recalled then shuddered. "Are you afraid?" Jonathan asked still unwilling to admit that though he was happy he was afraid. "At first I was, who wouldn't be with Valentine for a father figure" he chuckled. "I'm just going to be the father I myself would have wanted, instead of the one i got" They walked the rest of the way in silence back to the institute. Alec, Magnus and Cassidy had gone home and they found Clary and Izzy in what was to be a nursery right next to Izzy's room. They retreated to the dining room to eat and returned to their rooms; after showering Izzy spent the night filling Jonathan in on what he'd missed. Including the pass the clave had given him due to his possession and co operation in helping them find and defeat Valentine. He caressed her belly and talked to the baby apologizing for his absence and promising to be there from now on. Then wrapped themselves around each other and Izzy slept the most peaceful sleep she'd had in months.
