Zayn wasn't there when I woke up, there was only a post it not on his pillow that read, 'went to visit the boys families. I'll be back later. I love you.'"Why can Doniya be a bridesmaid but not me?" Waliyha asked the moment I walked down the stairs. I ruffled my hair. "Well, because there are already so many bridesmaid, I couldn't afford anymore." I thought about how there were six bridesmaids already, and how much of a struggle it was to get Doniya to send her measurements to me and get them to make the dress. I am still stressing out hoping it's right.
"You can be a bridesmaid at my wedding," Doniya said patting her cheek, and then she mumbled under her breath. "Like that's ever gonna happen."
"What are you all dressed up for?" I asked Doniya. "Do you have a hot date?"
"Yes, with you," she said. I raised an eyebrow. "I haven't seen you in so long, so I figured a girls day is highly needed."
"Why can't I come?"
"It's a big kid thing, Waliyha," she said. "Anyways, I'm going to give you thirty minutes to get dressed."
"But what if Zayn comes back?" I asked.
"Waliyha will keep him company or something. Now chop chop."
I didn't really pack anything as dressy as what Doniya was wearing so I just threw on a sultry black dress, heels and quickly did my make-up, putting on a dark red lip. I think I beat my record for getting ready in an alloted time frame.
"Well hello beautiful," Doniya smiled as I walked down the stairs.
"Are you guys really leaving me home alone?" Waliyha commented.
"Maybe you should have left with mum, dad and Safaa earlier," Doniya shrugged.
"So, where's this girl time occurring?" I asked Doniya as she texted at a red light. It quickly turned green and she placed the phone in her lap making hee turn. "We are almost there... Allenberry Drive..." she squinted her eyes and mumbled to herself. I started to think of things that were on Allenberry Drive but I came here so long ago, I could barely remember the street name that Zayn's family lived on.
"Is that.. Zayn?" I questioned leaning closer. I was now the one squinting my eyes. "Is that Zayn?" Doniya asked back. The closer we got the quicker I found out that it was Zayn. He was standing there intently looking down at a bouquet of pink flowers. He looked too fine in his black fitted suit and his hair was slicked back.
Doniya stopped the car in front of him and he looked up at us with a smile. "Wait.. I know what this place is. This is the hotel that me and my friends stayed at when we first came here... Wait, there is no girl time."
"I hope you two have a great time," Doniya smiled and winked. I heard the door unlock and when I turned Zayn was pulling it open. "Thanks Doniya. I'll take it from here," Zayn smirked taking my hand.
"I was set up.. This is what all the blinking was about," I said once I was out of the car and Doniya was driving away. "It is. You look beautiful by the way."
"You don't look too shabby yourself," I winked.
"Do you remember this place?" Zayn handed me the flowers and it's like a million memories started to flood my brain. "This is where I stayed with the girls and where you picked me up for our first date and you stood right in this spot and you had flowers.." Zayn smiled as I explained.
"I thought I'd relive all of our monumental moments from when we first met."
"All of them?" I questioned smelling the flowers.
"Okay, most of them. The milestones we'll call them."
"So are we going to that really rank bar where I first met you?" I excitedly asked.
"Unfortunately that got shut down. It's just a boarded up building that's making that street look bad. Trust me, I already stopped by there. That was the first place I went this morning. So we'll go by the next milestone, that swanky restaurant that only plays jazz music where I took you out on our first day but you refused to call it a date."
"I was mean.. wasn't I?" I joked.
Zayn took my free hand in his and pointed to his old car that we took on our first date. "Your chariot awaits madame," he said.
The restaurant was just like I remembered it. There was jazz music playing loudly from the speaker, and a bunch of high class old people were sitting at the tables leaving Zayn and I feeling out of place.
The first time Zayn and I came here we walked in and nearly froze in our place at how out of place we felt. We however tried to fit in with the in crowd and Zayn ordered lobster and I ordered filet mignon, and I didn't enjoy mine and he didn't enjoy his. Zayn profusely apologized to me in the car ride back and I laughed telling him that everything was just fine. This time we played it safe and ordered burgers.
"Bringing back memories?" Zayn asked.
"Oh, I am just flooding with memories I could probably drown right now," I said popping a fry into my mouth. "You see that lady over there?" I whispered and pointed with my pinky. Zayn turned around and glanced at the waitress with dark red hair. "She was our waitress last time."
"I knew she looked familiar. Last time she was pissed that we didn't eat all of our food and she said-" "I'm assuming I won't be sending your compliments to the chef," she and I said at the same time. We were even mimicking her snooty voice. We laughed.
"And then you over tipped her still and I told you not to."
"I can't help myself. I would have left and felt terrible."
"She made us feel terrible because we weren't sitting around with satin and real fur slung around our necks. She probably assumed we weren't going to tip her well."
"Well atleast I shut her up in that case."
"You did, I'll give you that much."
I reached across and snatched one of Zayn's french fries, dipping it in barbecue sauce and then shoving it in my mouth. "Did you just steal my chip when you have your own."
"I wanted to see if your fry tasted better than mine," I blinked my lashes.
"Who would have known that from you being absolutely disinterested and saying I reeked of cigarettes and apple beer that we'd move in together in Florida and get engaged."
"Don't forget Depp," I said. I had to call Ally later and see how he was doing.
"Yes of course Depp too."
"I sure wouldn't have thought this would happen. By the way, are you going to give me the ring back?" I asked.
"Are you sure you want to continue moving toward this?"
"Of course I am. I know I was stupid to take it off and move out but I was just really frustrated and I felt like the constant fighting was never going to end.." I explained.
"I know what you mean, but of course you can get the ring back. It's back in my luggage," he said with a wink.
"Here we go with the winking again."
