Chapter 34

Alone again....

I wait and wonder how slow time drags in frozen moments.

Day after day I look here and there waiting for something.

I'm waiting on a ray to break the dawn, my hands hope for sun while darkness smile.

In emptiness I stand a sad disgrace.

I shook my head forgetting the thought as I continue digging a hole in the backyard.

I look up and saw a tall boy outside who's staring at me with a smile.

Why is he smiling at me? He's creepy, I said to myself

I got up decided to head back inside and I stopped.

"Hey you!" he called

"What?" I turn back to face him

"What's your name?" he asked

I just stare at him not bothering to answer.

"Vincent come inside!" I heard Lucy called as I rolled my eyes.

"So it's Vincent" he smile

"Whatever" I say as I walk inside

"Wait-" he called not planning to entertain him

Lucy is one of the workers here in the orphanage and she's one of my closest friend, I like her she takes care of me, feed me and even read a book for me.

"Here you are boy I've been looking for you" she smile

"Okay what is it?" I asked her

"Oh don't be like that, I just made your favourite salad!" she giggles

"Really?" I widen my eyes

"Yes of course! So stop frowning and let's go alright" she said leading me to the kitchen.

"You're the best!" I exclaim

"I know right" she laugh

I pause when memories flashed in my mind.

Mother used to cooked a lot of salad for me.

"Hey Vincent are you alright?" Lucy asked worriedly

"Yes, I just missed my parents" I say as my tears came out

"Oh shh it's alright you've got me, you're like a baby brother to me" she say hugging me

"B-but I'll be a-adopted s-soon and-" I stammer

"Stop thinking about that okay, just continue eating your salad" she smile

Yes I heard their conversation last night that someone wants to adopt me, and well it's kinda nice to have a new parents but I don't wanna leave Lucy" I said sadly
