We drove to Tae's house and picked him up. He was somewhat surprised to see me in the backseat, almost as if no one told him about it. I don't know why that would be a secret, but he didn't know and everyone else did.
He chose to sit beside me instead of the front. Jungkook didn't appear to take that too nicely. "Who are we seeing again?" I ask Jungkook who glances at me through the rear view mirror, his sharp eyes burning into me.
"Some group called NCT 127. I hear they're good," he shrugs, hip hop music quietly humming through the speakers of his car. 'God, what a nice car.'
"Well if the tickets were 85 each, they must be pretty good," Tae replies, his eyes colored a dark green today. 'What a strange thing to like: changing your eye color as you please. I wonder what his real color is.'
"85?!" I repeat, leaning my head to glare at Jungkook turning onto a crowded road. "You never told me it was that much. I'll have to pay you back sometime," I huff, upset at the price in which he paid just for me to come.
"No need, Dea...really. It's a gift from me to you, meaning you can't return it or else that'd be just plain rude," he explains, the corners of Tae's mouth forming a smile as she shakes his head at his friend.
"You might as well just take it," Tae shrugs, leaning back in his seat before pulling out his phone, an entertainment tool I should've brought with me. 'Pfft, I don't need that.'
His thumbs rapidly type multiple texts on snap and he even sends a few pictures of him holding up the same peace sign he sent me. I couldn't help but smile at his silly pose. He notices this and turns to face me, holding my grin with my hand.
"What?" He smiles, turning off his phone and folding his arms, patiently waiting for my response. Pressing my lips together to keep me from laughing, I turn to face him again, only to, again, erupt with smiles and small chuckles. "Why're you laughing so hard?" He giggles, his beautiful teeth shining down on me.
"Nothing, it's just..." I paused, pulling myself together, "watching someone send snaps from this point of view makes me realize how silly we look."
His eyebrows furrow, still smiling brightly at my weird humor. "You're the one that's silly. I've never seen a girl laugh so hard at something so small," he grins, running one hand through his black hair, making sure to not hit the white bandana under his bangs. "I like that about you," he adds, an exhale for a laugh following right after. He reaches over and rubs my hair like a dog, my jaw dropping in return.
"Hey! Don't ruin my hair," I snap jokingly, looking through the rear view mirror at the small strands standing up from the sudden static. Jungkook's eyes glance up at my reflection for a hot second before going back to the road; his cheeks inflamed with shades of pink.
The glare from Tae's rings catches my eye, allowing me to actually take a closer look at them. "Can I look at your rings?" I ask, his eyebrows raising at the random question.
"You went from, "don't touch my hair," to, "can I see your rings?" He laughs; a bright laugh that warmed my heart at the sound and sight of it. "Whatever you say, Dea," he smiles, holding his hands out for me to take and get a closer look.
I hold his hands with both of my own, admiring the thick and thin silver bands, some having designs and patterns while others say plain and shiny. He slightly blushes at the feeling of my fingers gently touching the rings and occasionally his skin.
My eyes locked on a small band on his right pinkie. It was a dark silver with small, purple stones making a line all around the band in an endless loop. "This one's pretty," I point to the small band, his eyes following my finger.
"I thought you'd like this one," he smiles, taking the ring and pulling it from his pinkie. Handing it to me, I take it and examine it even closer. "I gave it to a girl awhile ago, but she gave it back."
He suddenly went sad and his smile lessened. I thought it best to not mention it. Turning the ring, I find the words Love, Tae carved in the inside. My heart melted at the idea of the girl receiving this from a man as handsome and wonderful as him.
"It's very beautiful," I say, placing it in my palm and handing it back to him. His smile reappears as a thought comes to his mind.
"Give me your hand," he smiles, holding out his free hand while the other held the ring. My cheeks flushed red at his words.
"N-no, they're still busted and..."
"Oh, forget about that," he chuckle, grabbing one of my hands and gazing at the white bands with doodles on them. "Did Jiwoo do these?" He asks as he takes my middle finger, the only on that the bandage didn't touch, and slides it on.
"Heh, yeah," I blush. He twirls the band, feeling how it hugged my finger tightly.
"It's perfect. Keep it," he says, letting go of my hand, leaving the ring still on my finger.
I eye him shyly, knowing I couldn't take such a gift. "I can't. It has your name on it anyways," I chuckle, beginning to pull it off when his hand stops me. I look up to find his eyes locked on me and his large hand holding both of my hands.
"Take it as a gift from me. Don't ever take it off," he whispers, glancing over at Jungkook to see if he was looking, although, I'm sure he was listening. He raises a hand and gently pushes pieces of hair away from my flushed cheeks. Leaning in, he passes my face and stops at my ear.
I could feel his lips gently brush against the shell of my ear resulting from the car hitting a few small bumps here and there. "Don't tell anyone I said this but you look absolutely gorgeous today. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were mine..."
