After eating all of the cotton candy, having to share a bit of it with the boys that we ran into on our way to the flag pole, the announcer began to draw everyone near the stage. Everyone else met at the flag pole except Tae, Yoongi, Jisoo, and Jennie, who had also joined our group for the evening.
"Hoseok? Do you know where they are?" I ask, the brunette shrugging as he munches on kettle corn.
"Knowing Yoongi, he's probably in the 18+ tent drinking," he replies in between munches.
"We should probably round them up," Namjoon says, pulling out his phone to send them texts.
"I'll go look for them," I volunteer. He looks up from his phone before finally nodding in agreement. I venture away from the group towards the left side of the stage with an entrance to more booths only this time, security guards stood on either side to make sure no minors got in.
Looking from the outside in, I didn't spot Tae or Yoongi. Suddenly though, a familiar voice is heard talking behind me. I whip around to find Tae now on his phone standing only a few feet away from me.
"Tae!" I call out, going up to him as I do so. He looks up from phone to find me. I show a smile, hoping he would smile back...but he doesn't. "Hey, I've been looking all over for you," I say, holding my wrapped hands behind my back as his expression remains unchanged.
"Really...why?" He asks, breaking his gaze from me to anywhere else. 'What is going on?'
"Um...the concert's starting, a-and I wanted to see you," I admit, my cheeks flushing red with embarrassment. His head turns back to face me, a cold gaze frozen to his green eyes.
"Hmm..." is all he says while shoving his hands in his pockets. "You should probably go," he adds, my eyes glancing up at him in confusion, only to find him, again, not facing me.
"What is your problem? How can you go from..."
"From what?" He snaps, cutting me off and almost scaring me with that harsh tone in his voice. "I don't know what you're talking about," he shrugs, just when a girl is spotted walking over to us.
"What I'm talking about? You're the one that whispered..." I try to argue, but his expression growing angrier.
"Dea, enough," he mutters as Jisoo goes up to him and plants a kiss on his cheek.
"Hey, oppa. I found a stand with the drinks we want," she bats her lashes at the boy, placing his arm around her and touching his chest with her freshly painted nails. "Oh, hi, Dea. Didn't see you there," she smiles a smile that made me want to throw up. Her tone was higher as if I was a child or someone of a lower rank than her. "Did I interrupt you two?"
"Well, actually..."
"No," he cuts me off once again, his fiery eyes piercing my soul and heart with hurt. "She was just leaving," he adds, glancing down at the ring on my finger before looking away.
"Oh, good. We wouldn't want the guards to kick her out for being too close to the adult area," she gushed, over pronouncing the word 'adult' in a way that was to mock me for my age. "Well, enjoy the concert...Dea," she waves.
"Tae..." I say, my voice a bit shaky but my heart not wanting to give up.
"See you around, Dea," he mutters before taking Jisoo's hand and leading her towards the tent. Tears build up in my eyes at the sight of the two disappearing into the dim tent.
It was getting darker, but thankfully the place was covered in seal lanterns, fairy lights, and glow sticks. My feet drag me on the outside of the people gathered around the stage as the performers enter.
The whole park grew loud with music and cheers, meanwhile, I cried over a boy who never even cared about me. My crying and wandering led me away from the park and closer to the booths which were now abandoned with the concert beginning and all.
I dragged my feet across the grass, not caring if I got stains on my white converses. My mind was fixed on Tae and what I had done wrong to deserve that kind of behavior from him. 'Was it because of the car ride? Why was he being this way?'
My thoughts got the best of me and I ended up accidentally running into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry," I quickly apologize as the man turns around. Looking up at him, my eyes naturally widen at such features.
He was a bit taller than me with hair like Tae's and the bluest eyes I have ever seen. Earrings hung down from multiple piercings on his ear and even one long chain that went all the way to his lip in another piercing. I have never seen such a person with interesting yet handsome looks.
"Hey, don't worry about it," he says, a smile creeping on his face and his eyes fixing on me, while mine were focused at that hoop piercing his glossed lips. "Damn, you're beautiful. Why're you crying, gorgeous?" He asks, my heart pounding at such a question.
Quickly wiping away my tears, I clear my throat and hope I didn't look like a hot mess. "Oh, it's nothing. Um...I'm sorry again. I'll just be on my way n..." I say, beginning to walk away when he takes my arm in his ringed hand.
"Woah woah woah, not so fast, pretty girl. I don't even know your name," he smiles, his icy eyes freezing my soul. My heart began to pound, and not in the way that it usually did whenever Tae or Jungkook did something amazing. No...this was the same feeling I felt on the roof: fear.
"Uh...um...I don't know you...and you're hurting me," I reply, my voice uncontrollably shaky at the sight of him. All I wanted was to just be gloomy with Jiwoo instead of being terrified here.
He doesn't let go, but instead takes my other arm so I completely faced him. "The name's Baekhyun," he grins, my heart about to give up at the speed it was going. "Why don't I buy your gorgeous self a drink? Get over that guy that made you cry," he suggests, beginning to pull me away from the stage as well as the adult section.
"No...please don't..." I try to pull away but he had a grip on me that only made me cry more. "Please let me go..."
