I left lunch with many questions that Jiwoo tried to distract me away from. But something about those boys and that group of girls just caught my attention. I probably wasn't the only freshman to find interest in them, and I sure wasn't going to be the last.
"Hey, I got work today. You wanna stop by the shop later when my shift ends?" She asks, mentioning the Boba Tea shop she worked at in the mall.
I snap out of my thoughts, completely not processing a word she said. "Uhh...I um..."
"Dea!" A voice behind me calls out, my head whipping around to find Jungkook racing towards me. "Hey, wait up!" He pants, stopping a few feet away from me to walk, his hands on his hips from exhaustion. I could feel Jiwoo's eyes burning in the back of head at the presence of the boy.
"Oh...hey," I smile, not knowing what to say.
"You didn't...sit with us...at lunch," he breathes, my cheeks burning as I see Jiwoo cross her arms, pivoting her body to completely face me with such betrayal.
"Oh, right," I pause as he finally regains his breath, his clear face returning to normal, "it seemed you all had enough on your plate as it is. I didn't want to intrude on...your friends."
His eyebrows raise at my response before throwing his head back with laughter. We both stand motionless as he laughs to himself. "Oh, those weren't our friends, at least not mine," he replies, his lips still spread into a smile that showed his perfect teeth. "Don't mind them. But hey, I want to introduce you to the others."
"Why?" Jiwoo asks before I could say anything. Jungkook looks over at her, his expression not changing but actually morphing into a smug smirk at the sight of her. 'Did he know her?'
"Well, you two seem like one to enjoy a high school party hosted by none other than Taehyung himself," he proposes, pointing back to his friends lingering by the entrance. "C'mon, Dea. Tae'll like you," he grins, taking my small hand in his larger one before pulling me towards the group of boys.
My mouth opened to object but closed at the realization of nothing coming out. Before I knew it, I was placed in front of the other 6 who eyed me with different emotions. You could guess Yoongi's by a first glance: he was not happy to find my pest self near him and his friends.
"This is her: Choi Dea. Freshman in our hall," he introduces me, my face burning at the sight of them all only a few inches away from me.
"Nice to meet you, Dea!" One says with a smile before shaking my hand excitedly. "I'm Hoseok. This is Namjoon, Tae, Jin, Jimin, and Yoongi." 'So much energy.'
I couldn't help but smile at his energetic self. It brought me a bit of comfort while the others all held a smile at my presence. All except Yoongi.
"It's um...nice to meet you all," I say shyly, my pale face probably reddening a deeper shade at every passing second.
"I like you," Tae says, crossing his irks over his white long sleeve with a red stripe right down the center. 'Was that Gucci?' "Come to my party tonight. I always throw one for the first day of school," he shrugs, his blue eyes piercing my soul. 'Why am I here again?'
"Oh..." I breathe weakly, unsure on how to answer. "I dunno if parties are my thing really..."
"Oh, come on," Hoseok whines, clasping his hands together and pushing his bottom lip out in a pout. "Pleaseeeee! You're the only actually interesting freshman we've seen this year," he pleads, a small scoff releasing out of Yoongi in the back.
"Yeah, it's fun. And you don't have to drink if you don't want to," Jungkook assures with a sly smile across his small lips, gesturing to the idea of drinking. 'They would be the seniors that got drunk at parties.'
I finally give in, remembering their attractiveness and the fact that they were personally asking me to come to one of their parties. "Alright, fine. You've convinced me," I smile at Jungkook, Tae, and Hoseok's bright faces at my response. Namjoon, Jin, and Jimin just try to hide small laughs from their friends while Yoongi held his arms in a knot across his chest and an annoyed look on his face.
"Perfect! I'll send you the location on snap," Tae says, pulling out his phone while I stared dumbfounded.
"What? How did you..."
"You appeared on my quick add and since JK here won't stop talking about you, I added you in 5th period," he cuts me off, my legs turning to jelly at the thought of his gorgeous self adding me on snap first.
Jungkook grew nervous at the mentioning of his nonstop talk about me. I don't even know what there was to talk about. I didn't know him and he didn't know me. What was there to talk about?
"Great, we'll see you there, Dea," Hoseok smiles while showing me a wave before walking towards the parking lot, the others following shortly after.
I stand motionless in the courtyard, many students passing me as my phone dings at my new snap notification. Bringing to cracked screen to my view, it reads "From Tae 💖."
'No way he put his name as that.'
I open it up to see a picture of him holding a piece sign over his face while pulling a cheeky grin with the text, "285 Pleasant Drive @ 9:30. Wear something pretty, beautiful 😉"
"I'm going to hell," I breathe, not taking my eyes off of the picture still up on my screen. Suddenly, a hand is felt on my shoulder, allowing me to jump in response to find Jiwoo.
Her glare glances down at my screen before looking back up at me. "You're kidding," she huffs, clearly not impressed by my consent given to the boys she despises. "You're not going."
"Says who? You can come to," I object, smiling slyly at her as her eyes flash down in thought. A small grin creeps onto her lips, only getting me to encourage her more. "C'mon! You get to dress me if you want," I bat my lashes at her.
"Alright," she gives in, folding her arms as a face of mischief is presented, making me begin to feel uneasy.
"What..." I sigh, knowing there was a catch.
"Only if you promise me you won't sleep or date with any of them. They are bad news and I don't want you to get hurt," he pleads, holding her crossed arms as she does so.
I breathe a deep sigh before nodding. "Agreed."
