Emily's pov
I woke up early this morning to find my dad. See if him coming home was true, or just another one of the lies in his web. I cheek the living-room, theatre room, and then one of the three guest rooms. There is a body in there and I breathe a sigh of relief. Wait a minute. There are two bodies in there, and...holy shit, they are naked. Ewwwww, I can not unsee that, like ever. I slowly close the door and head down to the kitchen. My mum walks downstairs in her clothes from yesterday, as does my dad not close behind her. I snort out the cereal and chuckle. "What?" They both ask simultaneously. "Nothing," I smile, look back down to my food and shake my head. Chris walks downstairs, on cue ruining this family bonding. "Hey," he smiles and kisses my mom, "I didn't hear you come to bed last night?" My mom slightly pales and bites her lower lip, the sign she is thinking of an excuse; unsuccessfully. "I fell asleep in the theatre room. Sorry babe." "That's ok. You want brekkie?" "Um, no thank you. I have to drive Emily to school, we're late," she looks to me and signals her head for us to go. I give her a nod, give my dad a kiss and Chris the bird and head down to the car.

Betty's pov
"I'm sorry," I look to Chris with pity and rub his shoulder. "It's ok," he consoles me, "how long is your friend staying with us." Jug scoffs, rolls his eyes and says, "Hey mate, this is my house. Feel free to leave, and in case you haven't noticed, I'm more than just her friend. I'm the father of her child and I'm not going anywhere" then he grabs his jacket and heads downstairs. I look to Chris and say, "Things are different. Jugheads back. Which is something you and I were both not ready for. It's confusing for all of us. But make no mistake when I say that my daughter is the most important person in my life, and what she needs more than ever is her father. Someone that I would never dream of taking away from her." He seems shocked by my outburst, so to soften the blow I give him a kiss. A kiss that has never felt so wrong and disgusting, so dirty and vanilla. I give him a smile and meet Emily in the car.

"Hey mom?" Emily breaks through my thoughts. "Yes bear?" "So I was thinking, that because dads back and like I am technically a Ghoulie." I interrupt her with a sharp bite, "Don't ever say that." She continues, "How about we call off the serpent chaperones?" "Bear. You know I only do it in the interest of your safety." She huffs and then mumbles, "I know."

Later at the bar, Jug is up in his office, re-administering the deed in his name, and the serpents are all upstairs celebrating Jug re-joining the serpents as official King. When I get a call from stonewall-prep. "Ms Cooper?" "Yes. Is there a problem?" "Hi, my name is Headmaster Dugle and I regret to inform you that under the pretences of assault, your daughter needs to be collected and is immediately... Expelled." A mixture of anger and sadness lace my voice when I say, "I'll be right there."

I head upstairs to the large room with multiple sofas and enter despite knowing that no girls were allowed to this particular event. A serpent places his hands on my waist and says, "You must be another exotic-dancer." I grab his fingers and pull them back, "No. Get your hands off of me." I keep my head down and walk through the crowd to where Jughead is at. I pray that he is not toasted. Sweet pea, Fangs, Jaquine and Tallboy are all taking shots off the nearly naked woman stomach, while Jughead sits back with a smile on his face and watches. His eyes turn to me and a new emotion glazes over them. Worry possibly? "Betty? What's wrong?" A few serpents choke on their drink at the sound of my name and cover the women body with a jacket as if to hide their activity. "Jug... Um... I don't know how to, um, say this, but like I probably should, but I'm not sure how you'll react..." I am cut off by him standing up and placing his hands on my shoulders, "Betty. Just tell me." I take a large inhale and say, "Emily's been expelled."

We decide to take the car because I have to get changed into more appropriate attire. "Eyes on the road Jones," I say as he glances into the back seat. "Hey that's not what you said last night, you wanted my eyes all over you. You wanted me all over you. Besides, I was checking my rear mirrors" "Jug. We do have to talk about last night because I think it meant different things to both of us." He nods his head in agreement. "Jug. You were gone for 10 years, and I never lost the hope that you would come back, and I never stopped loving you," I take a pause, and consider what I say next, "but, I also found Chris. Whom I also love very much, and now I am just confused, who I am supposed to love more." "I'm sorry for causing so much pain in your life Betty." "You may have caused me pain, but you have also brought me some of the greatest joy the world has to offer. Including the daughter that we have to pick up from expulsion."

Jugheads pov
We exit the school, with two serpents falling close behind Emily. I turn to them and give them a dismissive wave of my hand. As we enter the car, Betty takes a deep breath and says, in a chillingly calm voice, "Day drinking, Ditching your serpent protection, drugs, hurting Chris, joining the Ghoulies, just to name a few. But never would I think that you would get yourself expelled. Shocking I know, considering that the last person to ever get expelled from stonewall prep was your father. I guess it runs in the family." "Mom. I didn't assault a student. It was self-defence. This kid in my grade was begging me to let his family join the serpents because the gang he was in was out to get them. I said it wasn't up to me but I'll ask my dad. But he was persistent, and he started grabbing my feet. Tweedle de and Tweedle dumb serpents that you call bodyguards, were going to blow their cover. So I told them to back off, but then quickly things escalated and he pulled out a gun and put it to his head, so I punched him in the throat and picked up the gun. He had asthma, couldn't breathe and passed out. But I bloody saved his life." I am shocked by Emily's recall of events. "How did he get then gun inside the school," I ask. "Jughead! That's what you took away from that?!" I shrink in my seat and continue to drive.

We arrive at the bar, and Emily walks in with her head hanging low. "Hey," I say and turn her around, "You are a good person. A hero." She gives me a faint smile and heads upstairs. Chris rushes into the bar and takes Betty into a hug, which she warmly accepts. "I came here as soon as I could," he says. I walk behind the bar and pour myself a scotch, when Chris chimes up and says, "Do you always day drink dude?" I stare at him over the rim of my glass, "Look, dude, I have refrained from kicking your ass, out of respect for Betty. But I have a short temper, and you are getting on my nerves." I down my drink in one gulp and walk over to the pool table with a couple of serpents.

Bettys pov
"So babe," Chris spins me around, "I made reservations for dinner tonight. Our 5 year anniversary." "Awww, thanks baby," I say back and kiss him, "I love you." "I love you too." "One moment," I say. I walk over to Jug who is sorely losing at pool, and say, "Hey can you please look after Emily tonight?" "Mhmm, sure." I was kind of expecting him to ask why and then hurt because I was going out with Chris. That makes me a bad person, doesn't it. But I can't help but want him to feel even a quarter of the pain I felt when he left. I turn back around and Chris wraps his arm around my waist and we exit the bar.

Hi this is the author. So for those who are reading or have read this story, I just realised that a whole chunk has been deleted, close to 1000 words, which I was not inclined to re-write. I'm sorry but I'll just give you a short summary of what hapened.

- Emily and her serpent friends play a dare game; but Jamie is dared to lie in the middle of the road for 30 seconds, Emily tries to stop him by pulling his arm but him being slightly drunk pushed her off and she stumbles back and hits her head. She becomes unconscious, Jughead tries to call Betty but Chris picks up and then hangs up when Jughead tries to tell him Emily's injured because Chris thinks it is just an attempt made by Jughead to get Betty's attention on their anniversary dinner. 

- New characters who are Emily's friends, find out that Jughead; the serpent King, is Emily's father. These friends include, Tess , Jamie, Venom, Masson, Beccy, Harrison.

- People also learn that Jamie's name is just short for James.
