Jugheads pov

Emily and I arrived home laughing after an extremely enjoyable riding lesson. We grab some fruit from the fridge and head upstairs to shower. When we reach the top, Emily and I see Betty slumped up against the wall crying inconsolably. I drop my apple and run straight to her, picking her up off the floor and into her room. I tell Emily to go have a shower and I'll look after Betty. At first, she was hesitant and insisted that she should be there, but eventually gave in. When she turns and shuts the door I coddle Betty in my arms and she begins to calm down. She pushes me down against the mattress and straddles my lap. "Betty, come on your upset baby. Not now." She leans down and kisses me, trying to part my lips and put her tongue in my mouth, but I remain persistent. "Please," she begs against my lips. I open my mouth passively and deepen the kiss.

I get out of my shower and walk across to my wardrobe, deciding on a slightly provocative V-cut leather singlet, a pare of leather pants and 4 inch knee-length boots. I plan on going to the white wyrm and get advice from sweat pea on how to get out of this little pickle with the ghoulies. I walk over to my parents bedroom door and open it. Despite the 0.5 seconds I was actually in the room for, I did not expect to see my dad shirtless, and my mom in her undergraments french kissing my dad. "Holy shit! Sorry!" I yell and sprint downstairs. Despite not having a licence for my dads bike, I get on it and drive off to the bar.

When I arrive I walk over to my friends in the corner at the pool table. "Wow Em," Masson says, "you look like you've seen a ghost." Before I can respond Sweet pea turns me around and stares at my face. I raise my eyebrows confused by what he is doing. "Hahah," he breaks down laughing, "I know that look. It's the same look that every serpent in this bar has displayed on their face. Lemme guess, your parents made up?" I shiver and say, "I just want to forget literally this whole day." Sweet pea walks away chuckling. "What was that about?" Tess asks me. "Don't even ask," I mumble. As if on cue my parents walk into the bar, "Omg guys please hide me." I get under the table. My mom walks over and asks, "Hey, have you guys seen Emily." Everyone says 'no' convincingly, but then Jamie says, "she's hinding under the table." I punch him in the shins, he crys out and and laughs. I get out from under the table and start to back up. "No! No! Don't even say anything." I run off behind sweet pea and use him as a barrier from my mom who is now joined by my dad. "Emmm," my dad says. "Ahhhh no it's fine I forgive you, just please stop talking." I run of again behind Tony, my dad says, "Emily stop this now!" "Can I please just sleep at aunty Cheryls?"

Before my parents answer, the music cuts in the bar and is replace my murmurs. Coming through the crowd is an older women in a white blouse, pink shirt and blue cardigan. She doesn't look like a serpent, but she acts like she owns the place. My mom looks at her like she has seen a ghost, and says, "Mom?" Grandma? I think to myself. Before I can even make sense of the scene before me, Toni subtly pushes me under the bar counter and holds her finger to her lips to silence me. However, I listen intesly on the conversation. My grandma says, "Betty. Your looking well." "Well, it may come as a shock to you considering you havn't seen me in over 15 years." "Well truth be told, I'm not here to see you, my ungrateful daughter, but to collect my grandchild that I just became aware of." "What do you mean collect?" I here my dad say. "I'm suing for custody." "Thats outrageous! On what grounds!?" my moms now yelling. "Neglectful parenting, and I have a court order that says until the trial, with the submitted evidence I have provided the court with, she will stay with me until further notice." "You're not taking my daughter from me!" my mom exclaims. "Alice, this is ridiculous!" my dad yells, "You can't have her!" "If you don't give her to me, your looking at permanent loss of custody." Without thinking I stand up from behind the bar and take a good look at my grandmother. "What your doing is evil," I say to her. She smiles warmly at me, and it's hard to remember that right now I'm supposed to be hating her. But some part of me want's to forgive her and let her be the grandmother I had always wanted. I take a step from behind the bar and walk closer to her, "I'm not gong with you." She looks behind her, and two large men come in behind her and take ahold one my arms. Before my parents can help me 20 more of even larger men in the same outfit, come up behind them. Some serpents go to attack them but they manage to deflect their assults effortlessly. They begin to carry me out screaming and kicking, and my dad was clearly doing his best to get to me, but it was no use. I was already in the car and being driven away.

I arrive at a white house with a red door. The man in white goes around the side of the car and opens the door for me. But when I refuse to get out, he slings me over his shoulder and carries me against my will. "Let go of me," I yell and pound his back, "stop this!" He continues to carry me effortlessly, despite my protests and up the stairs.

Alice just left with Emily. Betty is screaming and crying and walking around in circles, which has now gathered the attention of every serpent in the bar. She slowly calms down and walks towards me, she embraces me in a hug that I reciprocate. But she pulls back with my gun in her hand, "Betty, no!" I say. Before she can go anywhere, I chuck her over my shoulder, which she tries to get down from. I grab the gun in her hands and place it on the bar. "Betty! Calm down! We are going to get her back, I promise you. But you can't make any irrational discions right now. I'll call the family council, and she can file for frivolous law suit." She calms down slightly and I place her on a bar stool. Her whole body is shaking and limp, so I support her by the waist. "Juggy. Just please get my baby back to me." "I will." I give her a kiss and linger my face close to hers, "I love you." She responds and says, "I love you too Jug."

Emily's pov

I hear footsteps assend up the stairs and I retreat to the corner of the room. The same woman from the bar walks in with a wide grin and a perfect set of pearly teeth. "Hi their honey!" she exclaims. "Please take me back to my mom and dad," I beg her. "Honey..." I interject coldly and say, "My name is Emily. You can call me Emily." Her smile slightly lessens, slightly, and she continues what she was saying. "I realised recently that I failed your mom. She grew up to be out of wedlock, disrespectful and throwing her expensive education down the drain. But now that I have you, I can try again. This time you'll be perfect." She sounds insane I think to myself, what in the world is wrong with her? "I am not going to stay here and be your personal project." "Hon-Emily, of course not your my daughter." "Grandaughter," I corrected her. "Yes of course that's what I meant." I go to walk to the door, having enough of this for a lifetime, only to be stopped by my grandmother, "Look grandma, you had 14 years to be apart of my life, and the sudden interest in it is very suspicious, and as human being, I am entitled to leave any environment I no longer feel safe in. If you violate that right you can be sentenced to prison." I never though that my legal class would actually come in handy. Shoked she lets me walk by her and downstairs, but only to be stopped by the same two men in white. "Move," I tell them curtly. They both stay still, ignoring my request and deciding that it would be unwise to try and get past them I head back upstairs. When I walk back in, Alice is folding clothing and putting it into draws. I hold up one of the knee length pencil skirts and laugh, "Who's is this!" "Yours," she says as a matter of fact. "No," I say with strong animosity laced in my voice. "Yes it is Emily," she responds curtly. Changing the subject I sit on the bed and ask, "Am I a prisoner?" She ponders my question for a moment, not stopping her task, and responds, "No your not, your more... under protection." "From what?" I ask a little louder than I intended. "Not from what, but from whom. From an early age your parents have set you on a destructive course for your future, and I don't want that for you. You deserve better." I get extremely frustrated with this woman who has stormed into my life with her serlf-riteous attitude and stubbornness. "Your not my mom or dad. You don't get to make those decisions!" "While that is the current predicament. My lawyers are filing for neglectful and insufficient parenting, and by the end of the week, full custody of you should be turned over to me." She seemed content wit herself, stood up and excused herself from the bedroom. My bedroom? I wasn't even sure. Then I hear the door lock. So much for not being a prisoner.

It's around 7:30pm. I had just finished a dinner that I hate to admit was actually really good, and are now back upstairs. Alice and I didn't talk much, aside from her few statements throughout dinner, silence was the main course. I hear a tapping on my window. Then I hear it again. I go over to peer over the side, and coming up a ladder is Jamie. I have never been more happy in my life to see somebody. He gets to the top and hold up a sign that reads, 'Ready to get rescued Juliet?'.
