Betty's pov
"You bitch." Missy seethes as she approaches me behind the bar.
"Get the fuck away from Betty" Sweet Pea yells striding towards her.
"You think that your so beloved by everyone," Missy scoffs, "he doesn't love you anymore, and soon, he'll make everyone pay for how they treat me."
"I don't have time for your games today Missy," I reply nonchalantly as I wipe the sticky bar. She screams in frustration and throws the empty beer bottle against the wall behind me. The bottle shatters in a hailstorm of glass, and a few stray pieces hit Maddy below. "What the hell have you done!" I yell at her and pick up my bleeding daughter. Just above her left elbow a small shard of glass peaks out. Maddy starts wailing, and her cries are soon joined by her brothers.
"What's going on?" Jug yells coming over.
"Your psycho girlfriend threw a glass bottle at our children!"
Jughead turns to Missy and I watch as his hand hovers aggravatedly over his gun. After what seems like the toughest internal battle he calmly says, "Mimi, I think you should go upstairs so I can deal with Betty."
"I think so," she says with so much high-handed self-righteousness, "and while you're at it, this gang needs to learn who's in charge."
Jughead walks swiftly over to Noah and picks him up, "The cuts shallow, it shouldn't scar. One day I'm going to kill that bitch," he whispers in my ear.
Fangs approach us shoving at Jugheads shoulder, "What the hell is wrong with you man? That motherfucker upstairs nearly killed your child and you still coddle her."
This time Jughead does take out his gun and lines it up with Fangs forehead, "Do not question me as a parent or leader again. Do you hear me?"
"Jughead!" I scorn. "That's it. Welcome to a 21st-century custody battle. Moms win them now. I can't have that woman near my children again."
"Aww, Betty. Jealousy isn't a good look on you. It's petty and small," he parades.
I storm out of the room with both Maddy and Noah, taking them downstairs to the infirmary.
When I come back up from the basement, everyone has crowded around the stairs. "What's going on?" I ask one of the serpents at the back of the crowd.
"Missy was just found murdered around the back of the bar."
My stomach clenches at the sound of murder, but my heart rejoices when I hear her name. But my brain hurts with guilt for feeling happy and my body tenses knowing it could've been me or my children. "Where-Where's Jughead?"
"He went after the guy."
Jughead was right. Harrison De'lorano was dangerous and was willing to hurt women and children whom Jug loved just to settle some feud. We've faced so many problems in the past. I just don't see a way around this one. Jughead stalks back into the bar pissed. In fact, I've never seen him so angry. It was petty of me to be jealous he was so angry over the murder of the person he was pretending to love instead of me. Before going up the stairs, Jug looks over to Emily, who has her back to him. And at that moment, my heart breaks for him. He has had no time to learn who his daughter is. First missing 10 years of her life, now having her hate him for the rest. While our family was less than conventional right now, at least I still had my children, and Jug when we were alone. But in public, Jug had nobody.
After placing Noah and Maddie in the bath in Jugheads room, Emily offers to watch over them while I pack up so we can head off. Instead of going back down the stairs, I walk towards the end of the hallway to the medium-sized room, which use to be a third private strip room, but was converted into a gym. Two treadmills, circles, bench press and a few other machines I wasn't even going to try and decipher.
Jugheads pov
I was so angry I hadn't caught that bastard. Betty deserves better. I see the hell I was putting her through with the whole Missy thing. My love looked exhausted and defeated. So defeated. Didn't she know I was always on her side? I hadn't even realised where I was going until I made it to the gym. I hate this room. It's so unnecessary. But the guys wanted it when Hiram redeveloped the sunnyside trailer park and outdoor gym, so I didn't mind care. I stalked over to the dartboard on the wall and started to throw any knives I had on me at it. Hard.
But then everything went soft, and I heard her voice. "Juggy?"
"Over here Betts," I responded lamely.
"How are you?" she asked concerned.
Ha. She's the one who's been through hell and back, and she wants to know how I am! I'm going to marry this woman one day. "I'm fine, just wished I caught the bastard. So that you can come back to me," told her in a strained tone.
"Me back to you? Please. You are the best thing to walk into my life. You're not going to get rid of me that easily," she retorted.
"What about our daughter?"
"Once we know it's safe for her to know everything, we'll tell her. Until then, we need to keep her safe and far away from this. Even if it means hurting her."
At that moment I couldn't contain the smile that broke from me. "Your so wise."
"I know," Betty said agreeing with me.
At that moment I take a step back, "We can't be in the same room, together. We still haven't caught Harrison yet, and can't risk anyone seeing us together and snitching."
"I locked the door when I came in," Betty told me seductively. "And if anyone came in, I an say I was replacing the water dispenser.
"And I'll say that I was using the bloody bench-press."
"Maybe you should get in position so it looks realistic," she purrs.
I give her a smile and lie back on the black bench. She walks over gingerly and straddles my hips and my erection press' against her leg. "There's no way I could work out like this. I'm too distracted."
Betty's pov
"Okay, I'll distract you..." I think for a moment then chuckle as I remember a joke Veronica once used on Arch. "Are you a boxer? How about you get on your knees and give me two blows to the head?"
He laughs a throaty laugh, and I delight in the rare sound. "Okay, that was a sold 9." he told me.
"What about... Are your legs tired? Because you've been running in my mind all day."
"You could do better," he smiled, and I peck him on the lips.
I looked into his big living eyes, "Together. Okay."
"Forever." He responded.
