Chapter 6

Jae Rin's pov

"Tell me what it really means" he said, stepping closer to me. "It means you are my devil okay?" I said, looking away. There is no way I'm gonna tell him that he could also be my soulmate, that's not possible.

He looked so surprised, with his eyebrows raised and lips parted. "Really? I'm your devil?" he smirked, recovering fast. "Are you deaf or something?" I asked annoyed. "Now delete the video" I beckoned towards his phone.

He licked his lips and stared at me. "Why would a devil listen to whatever you say? You know what? This video is far more worth than the little information you gave me." Shocked, I looked at him "What do you mean?". "I want you to work as my bodyguard" he said at last, looking serious.

I stared at him, my brain processing what he just said. "What? Stop joking Taehyung. Now delete the video" I said.

"I'm dead serious. You work as my bodyguard, I'll delete the video" he said, his face blank now.

"HOW CAN I BE YOUR BODYGUARD DUMBASS? DON'T YOU HAVE EYES? LOOK AT ME! DO I LOOK LIKE A BODYGUARD" I raised my voice, losing my patience.

"Hush now" he said, coming closer and placing his index finger on my lips making me jerk. "I've got nothing to loose here. You want the video deleted? Work as my bodyguard." he said, removing his finger from my lips. The aura around him sent shivers down my spine.

My breathing fastened "H-how do you think I could protect you?" Shit I stuttered. "Use your power. Duh! Remember when you took down Doyun and his friends off guard? Stay invisible and protect me" he said.

"Protect you? You are a millionaire for god's sake! Don't you have your own bodyguards?" I asked, shrugging my shoulders.

"I do. But I don't trust them. Stay invisible and by my side all the time. So what do you say?" he asked. "Do I even have a choice" I said, defeated. "Good" he smiled. "Mr. Yoon, can you bring the documents please" he said with a raised voice. Few minutes later, Mr.Yoon entered with some papers that I had no idea about.

He placed them in a table before us and left the room, bowing. "You can sign the contract now" he said, handing me a pen. I looked at him confused. "What? You will get your salery too. Everything is specified in the contract. Give it a read and then sign it." he said.

I sat on a chair and read the contract. I should stay with him at all times and protect him. Out of school, I must be invisible so that no other bodyguard will know about me. I have no idea why he doesn't trust any of his bodyguard. My jaw dropped seeing the salary. I can earn that much by just protecting this guy? Who is he actually? I signed the contract and handed the papers to him.

"You can protect me in school easily. You should stay with me from the second school ends. And yeah, you will be staying here with me from now." he said, collecting the papers from me.

"WHAT? No way! My mom will kill me if she comes to know that I'm gonna stay here overnight" I said, wide eyed. "I'll take care of that. You can start your work tomorrow, I'll drop you home now." he said and gave me a soft smile.

He dropped me home in one of his less flashy car. "Hi mom" I said entering my home, still confused on how he is going to convince my mom. "Oh Jae Rin-ah thank god you came. What took you too long? These gentlemen have been waiting for you for almost an hour!" she said rushing me inside. "What- mom -who?" I barely asked as I saw two men in black suits sitting in the living room.

"Ah Ms.Lee Jae Rin. A pleasure to meet you. We have received your proposal and are very eager to see you join our company. I have talked everything relevant about it to your mother and she has agreed to allow you to go abroad." he said. "Hold on please. Abroad?" I said, shocked. "Yes, even if the proposal was impressive, you still need more training to work in our Kim's company." he said.

Kim? Kim Taehyung? Everything made sense now. So this was his plan.

"Alright. So can you please tell me when my training is going to start?" I asked playing along. "Your flight takes off tomorrow morning at 8am. Our employee will pick you up at 7am. I request you to be ready with your passport and all your required things without delay." he spoke with a profesional tone. "We will be leaving then" He and the other guy bowed and soon left.

I had no idea about what they told my mother but she was at the peak of excitement. "The Kim's company? Oh my god! You do have a brain. I really thought you were useless but you managed to get a job in the Kim's company!" she exclaimed. "Thanks mom" I said, not sure if she was complimenting me.

(the next morning)

"Did you take everything?" she asked. "Yes mom. I don't think I left anything behind" I said, taking a look at my checklist. "I'm going to miss you baby" she said hugging me. "Whoa. That just made me cringe" I said playfully, hugging her back.

Honk

"Well, I guess that's my cue to leave" I said, waving goodbye to my mother and getting inside the car waiting for me.

Bodyguard huh? I had no idea how my life is gonna be from now. He really is my devil. I thought as the car started moving smoothly.
