CHAPTER SIX.
—
❝ WITH HEAT AND WET SKIN ❞One thing that she had come to realize the first time she had ever tried drugs was that it was definitely not as exaggerated as plenty films portrayed it to be. Sure, things were still weird and wild, but in the movies, it could be really exaggerated.
These deep, distorted voices greeted your ears as the colors upon the screen morphed into radiance. Everything appeared otherworldly, extraordinarily new. Agitated, excitement, everything you never even knew you could feel greeted you. Though, that was only half the truth in most cases.
So when she slipped that piece of paper along her tongue, she should have known that the effects, much like anything else, would take some time before they kicked in. Nothing she had tried so far had gone the way it went in films and TV shows.
She also tried to keep in mind what she had heard before purchasing the small items.
"These are tricky to figure out," Jack had explained, grinning like a mad man.
Millie watched curiously as he held the little slip of paper along his fingertip. "What do you mean?"
He shook his head softly. "LSD, Millie. Tough stuff to figure out. A lot of shit goes into how your trip is gonna go. Your mind has to be cleared, it's gotta be a good day, surrounded with good people or nobody at all. Shit gets real on this. And you can never tell how strong or how long this could be."
It seemed like a lot for a simple, tiny drug. But Jack knew his stuff, so she had made sure to hold onto that information.
Now, she sat along her large mattress, waiting beside Finn for the effects to kick in for either one of them.
It was mostly silent between them, aside from the calming playlist that she had chosen to play throughout. Her mood was one thing she knew she had to keep in order. Anguish, anger, anything that could go negatively, she had to suppress it.
She inhaled and exhaled slowly, thoroughly washing out everything inside her. Meditation was something she had grown fond of in recent times. It helped to put her at ease.
The more time that passed, the more she felt herself relax despite the fact the slip of paper had dissolved long ago and she would feel the effects any minute. Millie realized that she still didn't know much about acid, wondering if Finn knew anything about these experiences.
