I KNOW THAT YOU
GOT DADDY ISSUES
AND I DO TOO

Spending his days with Caleb went on longer than he had initially planned for.

He had returned home, greeted Winona as usual when she had been pampering his bedroom that had barely even been touched. Finn lounged around lazily as he made his small talk with the middle aged woman, wondering of his mother's whereabouts, surprised to hear that Eric was home for the day.

Things like that were unusual and rare. His dad was away from home so often, it was weird for him to actually be there for so long. Over the years, Finn had grown accustomed to this entire mansion being left to himself and his older brother and their mom. The help tending around them helped to fill in the emptiness, and it was almost as if they would barely notice their dad was gone.

In recent times, it was glaringly obvious when he was home in a rather intolerable way. It settled under Finn's skin, causing him to become more jittery than he normally would be.

Despite the underlying nerves that were gnawing towards the front of his mind while Winona spoke so motherly to him, he was able to play it cool. He presented himself as his usual aloof, carefree self. And the maid seemed to see no different as she went on fixing up what needed to be done, teasing the boy as usual.

Then, when he was left alone, he was like a ticking bomb waiting to explode.

So much pent up energy was within him as he went on tapping his feet, bouncing his leg. Eventually, he tried to let it flow out into the plucking of the strings of his guitar, doing anything to busy himself within those four walls knowing that his dad was under the same roof for whatever reason he had yet to know of.

Although, Finn felt that he had a pretty good idea of what it was he was doing there that day. Carefully putting out the flames of his mother's growing suspicions.

And he just couldn't take it any longer.

So, after haphazardly tossing articles of clothing into a large navy blue duffel bag, he slipped on a pair of converse, grabbed an orange beanie along with his favorite skateboard, and he set out of the house, having one place in mind.

That was how he found himself, three days later, riding his skateboard along the built in basketball court of the McLaughlin household.

Caleb was running around the outdoor court, shirtless and a sheen of sweat along his chocolate tinted skin, as he dribbled the basketball beside him and continuously scored inside the hoop. Each and every time.
