I wasn't thinking clearly

Or even when I talk back
She was a good woman
And you got your heart broken
I guess if there is a lesson
Don't let your fears be outspoken
Because even if you say
You did it for the right reasons
Fear won that day
It wasn't just a feeling
You were afraid of me
Of my thoughts
Of my anxiety
Of my monsters
That fed
All of your insecurities
But as we both rebuild ourselves
And glue our pieces back together
Remember that even if some of the pieces look similar
It doesn't mean they belong together
And don't worry
I'll always be there to put that puzzle piece back in the spot you can't reach
Even if you can't always do the same for me
I don't care who joined the game first
A team is a team
I'll build you up as long as you let me climb on your back
to grab the stars, even the ones that are black
