Jacob found himself sore as he headed to his Mother's house Sunday afternoon. It's not like he hadn't had sex over the last 15 years, but he certainly hadn't spent THAT much time engaged in such an act. Not that he would complain about it, but he was surprised to feel the tugging pain of some muscles that he wasn't use to feeling. Jacob started to consider how Troye had to be hurting in some other areas as well, unless... Jacob shook the thought from his head. He couldn't let his Mother's narrative concerning who or what Troye was, get to him before he was even at her house. He had to stick to his heart and his heart belonged to Troye.

Jacob took a second to gather himself after he parked his car. He then climbed out and with his head held high he walked to the front door, determined to not let down his resolve. Jacob twisted the knob to the door open, stepped inside, and stopped dead in his tracks as a familiar laugh filled the house.

"What the fuck," Jacob said to himself. He made his way into the kitchen and there he saw his mom, Angie, and three guests he wasn't expecting at all.

"Jacob!" Angie said excitedly, "Say hi to Mr. and Mrs. James and Kenny!"

"Jacob, hi sweetheart,"Mrs. James said standing up and walking over to hug him. "We've not seen you in like forever. Look at you, you look amazing. Doesn't he look amazing, Kenny?"

Kenny chuckled, "Jacob always looks amazing, Mom."

"Uhh, Hi," Jacob started and then his Mom cut in.

"Jake, Kenny came back because he got a job offer he couldn't pass up as an assistant principal! And you'll never guess where."

Jacob bit his lip, "I'm sure I have an idea or two."

Kenny laughed, "Maybe later you and I can sit down and talk about which kids I need to look out for and you know just catch up and such."

"Right," Jacob nodded and looked at Angie, "where are the kids?"

Angie frowned at Jacob changing the subject, "out back."

Jacob nodded and moved through the kitchen to get to the backyard. Once outside Jacob shook his head.

"Hey, sorry. Maybe I should have warned you," Angie's husband, Chris, called out.

"What the fuck are they trying to prove?"
Jacob said walking towards Chris.

"Well. I think they think that if you rekindle your feelings for Kenny, you'll forget about 'that other boy' as I keep hearing him referred as."

"Kenny and I were like a thing two years ago," Jacob shook his head.

"Right, you were a thing two years ago for what two years? Unlike being a thing 15 years ago and off and on for a few months in total?" Chris replied.

"Chris, I know it sounds ridiculous..."

"I'm not saying it does," Chris replied. "Just telling you what your sister and Mum have been saying. Personally, I was never a fan of Kenny. Plus didn't he just one day decide he didn't want to live in LA anymore and basically just left you like that?"

Jacob nodded, "But now he's back and is apparently going to be one of my bosses. Fuck my life."

"So... this other boy?" Chris started.

"Chris, I fucking love him."

Chris nodded, "Want me to talk to Angie?"

"No. Let's just get through dinner, I'll make sure that Kenny understands that our relationship is just that of coworkers and I don't know we go from there."

Chris nodded in agreement and it should have worked, but of course Carrie sat Kenny next to Jacob at the dinner table. Kenny spent the entire time working to engage Jacob in conversation and casually touching him every chance he got and just before Jacob was about to head home, Kenny cornered him in the living room.
