Damian paced the floor. He has been up for 15 hours. 12 of those hours were him working, and three of those hours were waiting on his girlfriend to come home. Glancing at the clock on last time and getting more frustrated, he grabbed his jacket and headed out the door.
He wondered around for an hour before he heard something getting knocked over in a nearby alley. Feeling his favorite knife in his pocket, approached. He audibly gasped. There was his beautiful girlfriend struggling to stay standing. She had cuts on her arms and legs. She was desperately trying to walk, but was shaking so hard. Rushing over, Damian pulled her into his arms and looked her over. Her purse was missing, but he could see Tikki hiding in her hair.
"Angel, what happened? Who did this?" He couldn't get the questions out fast enough. Deciding to wait, he picked Marinette up and raced off towards the manor. He didn't trust the hospital, and decided Alfred was the best way to go.After Alfred looked Marinette over, and she was fast asleep, Damian paced more.
'It's all my fault. How could I let this happen?' He thought.
"Stop pacing or I'm gonna let Tikki smight you."
Startled out his thoughts, rushed over to Marinette's side as she tried to sit up.
"Don't push it. You cut cut pretty badly. They really put you through the ringer." He said and kissed the back of her hand. "What happened?"
"I don't know. I was walking around, cooling off from our argument, then someone dragged me into the alley. They were robbing me-or did rob me. I refused. I tried to fight him off, but he had a friend. That's all I remember." She whispered, while shaking her head.
Damian sighed and rested his head against her hand. "I'm sorry I argued with you. The second you left, I realized how wrong I was. But when your mad, you shut people out. So I decided to let you call down and then I could tell you how wrong I was when you got home. When you didn't come home, I got worried and went out looking for you. I found you in the alley. You were barley standing." He shook his head, trying to prevent the tears that threatened to fall. "What did I do? It's all my fault. I'm so sorry."
He felt a hand caress his cheek, and wipe a tear away.
"I forgive you. Now! Can we go home? I'm dead beat tired!" Marinette said as she slowly stood. After a few shaky steps, Damian scooped her up and carried to his old bedroom. He handed her an old tee shirt and shorts before changing himself. He covered them both up, kissed her head before pulling her closer and falling asleep.
