Day Trip

Venus was on her knees in the mud, her arms tied behind her back. She looked up, seeing Murphy suspended in the air, a rope around his neck, but where was everyone? Why was it just the two of them?

"Bellamy, you should do it!" Connor appeared. "Be-lla-my! Be-lla-my! Be-lla-my!"

Bellamy was suddenly beside her.

"Don't... no, Bellamy please!" The girl screamed as she cried. "You can't do this. Please don't do this, he's my best friend! Don't kill him, I can't lose Murphy, please." He looked down at her and sighed as he walked towards the boy. "Bellamy? No, Bellamy, no!" He kicked the piece of wood and Murphy hung there, the rope tight around his neck.

"How could you?!"

"This is on you, Vee, you should've kept your mouth shut!"

That wasn't how it went. It was Clarke. Where was Clarke? Why wasn't Finn coming to save Murphy?

"It's...on...you." A voice croaked out.

Venus looked up, seeing Murphy looking down at her in complete disgust. "It's not." She cried. "It's not...I didn't do this." Murphy went limp. "No...John? John, wake up? John, fucking wake up!" Was Bellamy...laughing? She covered her hands over her ears and looked away. "This wasn't my fault!"

She looked up, Murphy's body was gone. Bellamy was gone. "No, no, come back! Don't leave me alone! I don't want to be alone! Fucking come back!"

"Vee? Vee, wake up!"

She gasped as she sat up, her breathing hard. Monty and Jasper were knelt around her, concern written all over their face. "What?"

"Are you okay?" Monty asked her.

"You mumble in your sleep. You screamed." Jasper added.

Venus was still waiting for her breathing to return to normal. "I, um..."

"Nightmares?"

She scoffed. "Sounds stupid. I'm not a little kid." She wiped her nose on her sleeves and wiped the tears off her cheek.

"It's not stupid," Monty shook his head. "Does it happen everynight?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"We didn't know..."

"That's because I didn't want people knowing."

"Can we...do anything?" Jasper asked.

"No. No, this has been happening since I was 14. 4 years and it hasn't stopped. Just, don't worry about it." She started getting herself up. "Thanks for letting me stay the night. Last night was really fun-"

"We will worry about it." Monty scoffed. "I'm worried about you. Ever since Murphy-"

"Don't. I'm fine."

"Vee," Jasper grabbed both her hands.

She sighed. "Would it make you feel better if I did regular check ups with you guys?"

"Yes."

"Okay...regular check ups, I promise."

"Thank you." Jasper hugged her tight.

"Thanks for letting me sleep here the last few nights."

"Of course. Take care of yourself, Vee." Monty called out to her as she left.

She paused as she looked around the camp...what to do?
